No need to panic, this is just speculation. But the talking about the less space babe-erish Asari with the eyebrows got me thinking. What if Andromeda is indeed some sort of reboot and they also reboot races... Hmm... Is that why we didn't see the Turians yet? And is that Krogan from the E3 trailer looking more lizzardish than the ones we know? Hmmmm.. Lots of speculation.. For everyone..

 

I mean, they could do some pretty cool stuff. For example, this image from Frederic Daoust (one of the game's designers) would make awesome Quarians. Why would they all have the same suit? It would be pretty cool if they all had different suits, put together with anything they could scavenge. It would make more sense than just one universal design. Well, in the original games I mean. It would actually be strange if they'd go to Andromeda on on a trillion dollar ship with louse equipment.

 

Is there anything you'd actually like to see changed to the old races?

Because that's what I wish they had done.

Also, it would be nice if the quarians didn't look so much like humans... let's pretend the Tali picture reveal in ME3 never happened.

Turians, obviously krogans too and.... in fact, I would like to see all the species, especially if you're talking about new designs. I just ADORE designs, the more I have, the happier I am.

Give the quarians a non-human appearance and then show it in-game.  What they did with Tali was just insulting.  Dextro-DNA, digitigrade legs,  tridactyl hands and feet, but a completely human face?

I'd like for Turian to have different kind of spikes and more differences from one another. Saren felt so...out of place, with no other Turian with the same spikes.

Basically, more than reboots, I'd like to see more variety in the same species, to feel even the aliens are individuals.

Make Krogans harder to kill. Lore claim these aliens are 7ft tall and can weight up to 800 pounds. I want to see a real Krogan, I want it to take more than one Claymore shot to kill them.

No more reboots, beautifications, re-designs, modifications and changes to the races damned (at a certain point it STOPS being Mass Effect - you may ADD things, but change how an entire race looks? No, you shouldn't - at least not their bodies/faces etc.! Of course you can give them new armor (that's something I want: No more breath-masks in vacuum and no more HEELS in battle...sorry but a space-suit/armor with heels makes no ****** sense at ALL!), weapons, hell maybe even some cybernetics etc. but no total conversion/change (like the elfs in Dragon Age (from DA:O to DA2))

 

-.- I know that some people don't like the Asari all that much, but wanting/demanding something like that ain't ok (I mean: I myself don't like the Turians much (except: Garrus!) because of their inflexibility and militarism (they train all able bodied people in combat - note: That might not be a bad idea over all, but they start at school if I remember this correctly and it gives people a military mindset where they don't consider other options first and that's IMHO wrong...it makes them good soldiers but ****** poor diplomats (First Contact War/Relay 314 Incident (as they call it, which is quite the euphemism for an unprovoked attack they weren't even punished for probably...damned inflexible blockheads (No wounder they generally make poor SPECTERs and it's mostly Salarians and Asari and later on: Humans!)) but I don't go around demanding that they be re-designed/changed etc.!)

Don't worry, me too.

 

It's just because of the artstyle of the designer ^^ they were modelized in 3D based on those pictures then they I don't have a "cartoon" look anylonger 

Also I posted the studies mainly for the showing ideas on their faces, mandibles and necks.

Well, maybe because he was using extensive cybernetics (he was after all a biotic - rare among Turians (Humans seem to have more potential in that area than most species - except the Asari, but they were genetically engineered and they live in an eezo-rich environment (at least on Thessia) so it's no wounder eezo became part of them...I'd like to know how that works in Asari-Children: Do they grow eezo-nodules in their bodies or do they need to be exposed to eezo in order to absorb it? If it's the later: Would the parent Asari have to return to Thessia for that or would a chamber with eezo-dust in the air work here, too or can the stuff be injected?))....), still I agree!

 

Oh, and I want FEMALE Turians (we've seen only one so far and more would be really nice, same for other races where we've only seen one gender (Krogan, Drell etc.)!)

Interesting! Is the first time I see this. I had that feeling with all Asari outside a few (like Aria and Samara) but I felt it more with the Krogan and the Turian, and sometimes with the Salarian.

More variety in faces, please! Which is why I'm pretty happy with the asari in the trailer. She looks different than the others we've seen before and while I like the "beautified" asari as well, I'd like to see some more average faces as well. More diversity is always good.

Just like the turians in the trilogy all had the same face model, just different paint slapped on (except for Saren and the females). I'd love to see really different turians with varying crests, mandibles, etc. Though it seems like Andromeda is moving in that direction.

Make the Quarian masks see-through (It's not like they are allergic to bright lights).  A more alienish design would also be appreciated, but the fact that their faces are always concealed for no lore reason always slightly bothered me more than Miss Stock Photo with lines.

 

I'm actually OK with the more masculine looking Asari.  They are supposed to be monogendered, not female, let them have a little physical diversity and not be all space models.  I also want ugly Asari so as to make me feel better about all my custom Sheps being ugly as sin!

 

Lastly, it's not a reboot, but I want to see more Yahg.  The one in LotSB was really cool, so maybe reboot their backstory a little so as to allow more to appear?

The Quarians are the only race I really feel got "messed up". They ignored the lore to make Tali a romance option, and then they gave them human faces to appease the Tali-creepers. Silly.

A more alien look for Quarians, since we never actually got to see them, and a greater variety of suit designs (instead of essentially 2 body models) would be cool. I might even start liking the suit rats a bit more, again.

Oh, I like those outfits. That's something I'd like to see more of as well, more alien outfits. In the trilogy there were only about 2 outfit models per alien race, and it became a bit boring. This time, I want to be blown away by lots of different (and weird!) alien couture.

Actually showing both genders of the aliens and adding up some diversity in terms of faces and what they wear would be enough for me.

 

I'm also liking pictures of Quarian's possilble faces. I'd really like them to look more alien.
