This is an attempt to apply a little more analysis to the question 'when will we see more stuff'?
It is based on two assumptions:
- That MEA will drop in February 2017
(Because EA's financial year ending March 2017 will have it budgeted in) [See Reference 1 below]
- That MEA will follow a similar marketing launch to DAI.
I assume that EA will co-ordinate marketing centrally. [See Reference 2 below]
So, I'm expecting trailers and demos to drop similarly to DAI:
- Environmental trailer 7 months ahead (It just dropped 8 months ahead at EA Play)
- Gameplay trailer at around the 5-6 month mark [August/September]
- Further gameplay trailer around the 4 month mark [October]
- Demos around 3 months out [November]
- Mixture of information videos and character cinematics in the 8 weeks pre-launch [2017]
Will these be linked to conferences?
I think in 2016 yes, because it's about awareness. With a Spring launch you want your game in people's mind before the holidays 2016. Marketing will also want some 'best of show' gongs for their launch marketing. There are no Jan/Feb conferences of major significance.
- Gamescom 17 Aug is a little early but it's too big to ignore - A gameplay trailer is probable.
- Pax West (Seattle) 2 Sept could be the one for gameplay if Gamescom was too early. (They could do both)
- GaymerX 30 Sept is an inevitable attendance, and it could drop a character trailer.
- Pax Australia OR Montreal Games Sumit 4 / 13 Nov - A significant Demo should drop around now, I'd bet Montreal as it's local.
Do you think these assumptions or conference proposals make sense?

I think MEA will be a huge deal for EA's financial year projections. We know how much of an issue revenue recognition is when it comes to content release.
March 31 is surely a hard date by which MEA must be coming out. EA are projecting c.$5b revenue in 2015/16, making pre-orders even more important for a game hitting at the tail of a Financial Year. Personally, I'd expect an earlier release (late February) so that they can capitalise on a sufficient sales window for MEA. My guess: February 21 US, February 24 Europe.
