What kind of "throwdown" with Harbinger? We already had one boss-battle with a Reaper in ME3, and it stretched the limits of credibility.

I'm reminded of this:

Yeah i get that there was already a battle with a reaper... i dont know it would just have been nice to finally defeat him after ME2 and ME3 combined

Mass Effect doesn't necessarily need boss battles. It's a science fiction like Star Trek. If we have to win something then it should be some interesting and engaging encounter with both fighting and talking and strategic thinking but not boss fights. Boss fights usually mean defeating some powerful monster in a monotonous manner but it's not Serious Sam. If we have some encounter then we need it to challenge the player on every level, not just combat challenge. The final encounter should encourage the players to use their brain.

If there is a final boss, I'd like for it to be options in how things go down like the option of resorting to combat and the option of resorting to dialogue. That kind of thing. The success of the dialogue options would be dependent upon how well you know the boss since the correct dialogue options would not be indicated in Paragon or Renegade color.

Mos tof Bioware's games do tend to have a final boss I've noticed over the years obviously ME3 to me i think was just an exception to the rule so I think th echances of us having a final fight witha boss/antagonist are good. How the story plays out though is anybody's guess.

I hope they have an actual final boss instead of an assault that lead to an ending. It was a bit anti-climatic when it's basically a bunch of mob fights in ME3. ME Andromeda needs to be grand and memorable, and they need to have a grand finale. Make the final boss fight to be hard and require strategy, make us earn the ending, allowing us to beat the big boss and make him cry worse than an anime fan on prom night.

I hope it's an easy fight if we do fight a boss kind of enemy in Andromeda i am not a hard core gamer as you guys/girls out there probably are. But i do hope it's a plausible fight and not like the one in Inquisition.

None of the previous ME games had a huge difficulty spike at the last major fight,  so this is one thing I think they will get right.

I still have bad memories of the boss battle on the ship in Bioshock Infinite. I had invested perk points i all the wrong categories to beat it and there was no way to respec. Had to google it and restart from scratch.

Well that's good to know.

I have Bioshock Infinite to but my Xbox 360 broke down for the i don't know anymore how many times it broke down. So i'm waiting for my Xbox one to come compatible for me to play Bioshock Infinite on my Xbox one. And uh thank you for the warning ;).

I should warn you again.  The ending of Bioshock infinite is polarizing.  Some would say it's equally as idiotic as ME3's ending,  some say it's fantastic.  I'm in the first camp.

Which species threatens the cluster's indigenous species? The leaked info says the Khet. These are the guys that are hell bent on expanding their influence and control.

Therefore, my speculation is that the final fight is against them.

Human Reaper forever.

I don't care how goofy, I love throwing down with Baby Terminator Reap.

Oh well, I need a challenge.

If you need a challenge, you're playing the wrong class. ;) I do hope they balance things a bit better this time without ruining individuals' favorite classes and styles, for the most part.

I don't know that I need a boss fight; I just need a quality ending. One doesn't preclude the other, of course. I enjoy the feeling of leading well a coordinated assault. (They've only really simulated this once; though Omega DLC was pretty good, as well.) At its heart, this is a military game. We lead a small, elite military force. An assault on the enemy at the end makes perfect sense. If there is also a boss fight, well that's fine, too.

I'm probably the only one who'd favor a final assault instead of a boring final boss like Hopper Saren or Termy Reaper :D

Not the only one. Those games would both be improved by modding out the final fights.

In general, I 'm not a huge fan of the boss fight convention, and I don't think that Bio's very good at designing them.

I prefer it in 2D, to be honest.

excepted for baby reaper, i like the bosses in the trilogy. Saren, Benezia, Clone and Brooks, KL.....my favorite is that Spectre from LotSB. So, yeah, agree with OP.

Why not have both? I loved the assault on the Collector base, and it culminated in a boss battle (which could have been better). It worked out fine...

Bioware have a tendency to dump their actually legitimately interesting fights all inside post release DLC, no idea why so few main game bosses of theirs have interesting encounter design. ME2, ME3, DA:O,DA2, and DA:I all did this.

I'm expecting much the same to be the case with Andromeda.
