So I did not notice any in the trailer. Are they just not going to bring them back? I loved having them in ME 2. While I did not always use them it was nice to have the option and they came in handy in different situations. I wasn't a fan of how ME 3 handled them by conveniently placing them on the ground nearby if we just happened to need them for taking out a harvester. They really should bring permanent heavy weapons back or at least give us the option to equip them if we want.

We saw very few things on the trailer, it's really too soon to tell if something like heavy weapons will be or not on the game, really.
You will maybe have your answer on an upcoming gameplay trailer for N7 day ? Patience .........

Well there was that one shot of Ryder shooting their pistol at that alien creature as it was charging. If there was a situation where a heavy weapon could come in handy that would be it.

All we got was a 2 minute trailer with barely any actual gameplay in it.
It's way too early to start asking if everything not in that trailer has been removed from the game or not.

We still had shots of Ryder in their armor with standard weapons equipped. It looks like they won't be doing heavy weapons ME 2 style.

Patience is good. It is the waiting that is *****.
On topic: Maybe they have so you can chose to carry it like the other weapons in me3?

I would love for heavy weapons to finally return as a selectable and not as something you find around the field.

I think the proper term is weight-challenge weapons. Yes, there should be more weight-challenge weapons like a mini-gatling gun or even rocket launcher types. It gives more diversity in weapon choices instead of the same weapons that has the greatest efficiency in fire powers. Weight-challenge weapons, despite being powerful, may have some limitations like slowing you down, longer animation, or friendly fire.

Haha, this is true. The first time I saw that brief segment, my thoughts were along the lines of, "Incinerate, Warp, Reave, Charge, Cloak... Do something man! That pistol isn't cutting it! Roll! Roll!".
Heavy weapons have their role in combat. I'd be surprised if they didn't return in some form.

How would the Heavy Weapon Fairy know to leave compatible power cells around in Andromeda?
The same way it will know to litter battlefields with thermal clips. I really hope we return to heat sink lore. (We can just vent the damn things as if we're reloading. Mechanical balanced will be preserved, we are spared the stupidity of thermal clip fairies, and everyone wins.)

I am not a huge fan of heavy weapons so I wouldn't mind if they disappeared entirely. I would rather have ME1 style customizable grenades that double as mines instead.

Probably the same way the Thermal Clip fairy knows to leave compatible thermal clips around Andromeda.

I'd love to see the return of permanent heavy weapons. A proper inventory system would be nice as well.

I do miss my Cain. BW, please help, i've fallen and can't get up without it.

Ah, but they would find a way, for their dust is made of all the Omni-gel created in ME1.
Give me Ark Projector or give me death
Now, now, how's this such a thing to say. At least without mentioning how you'd like to die. "Failed Mission" style or by dialog option.
In part 1 I went back into the Mako and shot foos up from there.

The new Mako doesn't have a cannon. It's just for exploring.

Which begs the question "is it really a new Mako?" An IFV without a weapon seems like it wouldn't be too good at the fighting part.

Based on the fact they have (some of) the Need for Speed team helping with the Mako, i think it's more of a fast transport vehicle. Which is fine since fighting thresher maws was ****** annoying. It was a challenge but damn the insta-kills were ****-tay.
Back to topic, i'd really love a mini-gun of some sort.
