Focus on his Rift Mage tree along with Spirit and Winter trees to make him a good support. If you want to make him offensive invest in Inferno tree. Don't dip into Storm tree unless if you want to pick up Energy Barrage.

I completely agree. Take all of Rift Mage tree, except for Firestorm (you can get Firestorm if you really want it, but you'll have to drop something else in the active slots below). You want to end up with this loadout for actives:
1. Barrier + upgrade of your choice
2. Stonefist + Shatterstone, set to Preferred
3. Veilstrike + Punching Down, set to Preferred
4. Pull of the Abyss + upgrade of your choice -or- Fade Step + upgrade of your choice
5. Fire Mine + upgrade of your choice
6. Energy Barrage
7. (Immolate + upgrade of your choice) -or- (Ice Mine + Chilling Array), see note below
8. Dispel -or- (Fade Step + upgrade of your choice) -or- Firestorm
If you go defensive, go down the right side of Winter to Ice Armor. That picks up Fade Step and Ice Mine. Otherwise, go into Inferno as follows: Immolate, Flashpoint, Pyromancer, Fire Mine, upgrade to Fire Mine (Searing Glyph + PotA is awesome, but you'll need to control Solas to really pull it off), Clean Burn, then upgrade Immolate.
If you run with Nightmare + Walk Softly, you'll need Dispel.

Just a quick aside, regarding the bolded - number eight (8) on your list, should probably be reexamined.
(BTW, it is obvious that you know that this build is about Solas - you mention him near the bottom of your post - but thought you might wish to amend your last pick on the list.

Yeah, you're right. I played a Rift Mage at the same time as I played Solas and mix up what I had for my IQ vs. Solas.Just a quick aside, regarding the bolded - number eight (8) on your list, should probably be reexamined.

Fixed. And thanks for the kind pointer -- though I'm perfectly fine with, "Hey, idiot, fix your damn post!"

Here's my take on Solas build. I dish out most of the damage myself so i only use solas for barrier, crowd control, slowing down enemies and weakening them.

I visited your youtube site and there's lots of good stuff there. I really enjoyed all the AI Build tests - lots of information in a very few minutes. I hit pause quite a few times to take notes on your builds to use them for myself. I heartily recommend to all.
Thanks!

Agreed! It wouldn't be shilling for views if you (@PawsPause) were to create a thread here in Combat showcasing a few choice vids, making them easier for BSN folks to find. It would be a public service.

Yeah, it would be a useful guide for AI companion min-maxed set-ups, which tends to get overlooked.
