Well... I'm looking to start my first ever renegade playthrough of the series... Any suggestions for which class i should take? I was thinking either sentinel or adept

Well Soldier and Adept are my faves for ME so I'd say adept although I find all 6 classes are interesting in their own ways.

Adept is pretty damn fun. As is infiltrator, especially in ME3 with the tactical cheat cloak

Like I said all the classes aer pretty good fun in there own ways as I like the cloak as well and the Biotic charge that Vanguards have although Vanguard is my least fave class but that's more because I generally prefer attacking at range rather than getting up close and personal.

Any class will work whether you play as a paragon or renegade.

Although Soldier is my favorite class, it isn't the best so there shouldn't be a problem answering this topic. ![]()
Infiltrator and Vanguard are probably the two strongest classes (in ME1 anyway), partially dependent on bonus. Mostly because they can both be "better" versions of pure classes depending on build.
Sentinel is probably slightly weaker if only because it doesn't actually get real Marksman, but it is a fun class to play and you can take AR training to get consistent weapon DPS.
Trying to factor over the series is a bit harder if only because some of the classes are relatively inconsistent. But Sentinel and Vanguard are probably the most consistently powerful. Vanguard has a bit of a learning curve for ME2, and if you can do that then ME3 Vanguard is a breeze. ME2 Sentinel is very durable in ME2, single target damage is a little low unless you take Stasis for the glitch.
Adept is pretty powerful in ME1, it is still powerful in ME2 but isn't as straightforward. I think it is better than ME2 infiltrator for instance.

I'm a fan of infiltrators in ME1. It combines the best of the engineer with pretty good weapon damage and the best defensive talent in the game.
I also like both the adept and the sentinel.

I'd say Infiltrator simply because it has Immunity combined with tech powers and its class power improves pistols which is probably the best weapon class in the game. On top of that going with the commando spec increases your gun damage while also boosting immunity which provides more protection than you'll ever need.

Vanguard is probably the most op class in ME3, and it's quite solid overall in the first and second games to. If we're just talking about the first two games the infiltrator is probably the most broken class. All this being said I still say that you should join the Vanguard master race.

Talking about ME1 - My build for a "Doom"-like in-your-face experience:
Vanguard with maxed Shock Trooper (take Barrier spec, and max for Adrenaline Burst spec) and max Spectre lines, then Pistols>Marksman>Shotguns>Carnage, Tactical Armor>Medium Armor, Master Barrier, Adrenaline Burst, Advanced Lift, Advanced Throw. Then whatever else. For Renegade I would max out your Intimidate line before anything else, to get all the bonus conversation options. Get hold of the Spectre-class Shotgun ASAP. Basically you become a juggernaut. I walk into rooms, toss up Barrier, throw a grenade or two into clusters, Lift or Throw everything in front of me, and finish them all off with Carnage and shotgun blasts. Use Adrenaline Burst as needed. Takes less than a minute to clear entire hoards. I usually keep Cryo Ammo on the shotgun, along with Combat Scanner. For armor, choose a good mix of biotic, tech, and damage protection, then add Exoskeleton or Kinetic upgrades. Grenade upgrades would be Fusion or Explosive. For the rare occassions when you might want to play the duck-and-cover game (which, IMO, defeats the purpose of this build, but is needed occasionally) then pull out your Spectre pistol and use Marksman.
With this build, you can bring along almost any squad-mates and still be effective, but I like to use Kaidan and Garrus, or Tali and Wrex, for the best mix of abilities. You can make use of Unity if necessary to revive the fallen.
Also, this build will require that you do majority of exploration and side-quests, to be high-enough level to get all the points you will want. It's not an 8-hour run build. ![]()
In ME2 and ME3 Vanguard gets the Charge ability (and Nova in ME3, along with much-improved melee options) and becomes literally like some kind of madman crazy thing, which is tons of fun if you really want to get up close and personal and just play like a lunatic.
In ME3 especially, the ability to chain Nova and Charge, along with melee and shotgun bonuses, makes it kind of insane.
