I'd prefer if they just stick with Ryder being a fresh character rather than a relative of someone from the trilogy.

That would be a pretty cool story twist i think, cant see how it would work but it would be nice to think that she is the descendent of a human LI like Ashley or Miranda or any of the male human LIs

Probably not gonna happen, even if it does its going to be an easter egg. Like The Amell from DAO and Hawke from DA2. Very few mentions of it and insignificant.

I agree it would feel a little star warsy if we were related to Shepherd but another ME character? That would be kinda cool if it was something that had the story importance equivalence of an Easter egg. Say we're looking at our personal file and we can connect the dots to find out Ryder is actually the distant relative of Emily Wong.
Would give me a warm feeling inside. Kinda like Hawke being distantly related to the mage grey warden.

Cringey, why would anyone even consider this.
This is like DA fans begging for every protagonist to be an Amell.
Bioware is doing everything in its power to make you forget about ME1-3, they are leaving the galaxy and going 500 years into the future, and people are still ****** asking about Shepard and ME1-3.
Its over, ME1-3 is over. Its not coming back.
