I've recently bought the Alternate Appearance Packs and I'm generally happy with them, but there's something that really bothers me and that's the shades on Jack and Thane. In such a dialogue heavy game, I really don't want characters' eyes to be permanently covered, not unless necessary, and I can't say I'm a big fan of the shades to begin with. So, I was wondering whether there's a way to mod them away? Either to replace them with completely transparent textures or perhaps replace the squaddies' original outfit with the DLC one through, say, Coalesced? (I'm not sure how much manipulation is even possible with ME2. I know it is very limited.) Or maybe there's another way to do it? If there's a mod available, I haven't found it.

I welcome any suggestions. Thanks!

Easiest method would be to use ME3Explorer > Texplorer to find the textures, then replace them by transparent textures as you suggested. You'll find all the information you need on ME3Explorer at me3explorer.wikia.com :). Good luck !
