It's always a nice change of pace when you get a non-combat mission like a mystery/investigation or diplomatic solving quest.

I would love something akin to GoW's horde mode. No not the ME3 MP. I mean putting up turrets and traps and other obstacles in something like defend an outpost/colony. Or something like the base defense mission in Xcom:EW

I like to rescue or protect someone who runs with us through a certain area (a sidestory/mainplot relevant npc - a child or wife of an important gang leader who we have to get on our side). Other missions could be the opposite: to get valuable information/items/npcs for our colonies we kidnap someone who runs with us through a specific area.

Stealthmissions or bountymissions would be interesting too (maybe to get some money or clothing/spaceship designs).

I like sidemissions which explain important planets lore or race cultures (or some kind of secret which lies in a specific base or tribe or artifact). Just tell some small but interesting stories.

Frankly any mission be fine with me as long as:

1. Make sense

2. Not timed (HATE timed missions)

I liked the lab portions of the Leviathan DLC. A similar mission or two in Andromeda would be nice.

Anything with substance. With worth. I don't want to feel like I've wasted an hour by completing a list of fetch quest type missions.

Special Missions where your class ties in. Maybe a mission with something like in Omega where engineers had a special paragon interrupt, but for all classes.i wasn't fond of how your class was totally ignored for the most part.

A mission similiar to Virmire that involves a squadmate dying no matter what, except instead of choosing between two humans, its between two aliens

I like the idea of long chaining in missions as mentioned above. Gives the story progression a more organic feel. I really want to play missions where we discover things for the first time, as an explorer/scientist. Like new life forms, alien structures, elements etc. We're in a new galaxy now, there should be lots of never before seen stuff.

Planting an acre of potatos or picking them or building a town more than once and defending it more then once is meh.  Do not want.

I'd like to see some more non-combat-oriented missions (Big Snip) to add some variety to the game IMHO.

A mission like Noveria, with multiple ways to go through it.

Along these lines, I think it would be nice to have a mission or assignment where you have the possibility to be completely covert, and if you do it right then a player can go through it without firing a shot.

I've been looking at the Youtube walkthroughs for Uncharted (1-4) and admire how these games sometimes have Nate's enemies walk out of the view of fellow NPCs and then turn their backs to Nate. This allows the protagonist to run up behind them and take them out silently. Figuring out the navigation pattern to do this throughout an entire assignment would be very challenging and add another dimension to the game.

As iN3GTR suggests, perhaps an assignment can have several paths one can take, and one of those paths could be a covert challenge -  even earning a "Covert Specialist" achievement too.

Stealth missions.

Just one stealth mission where you can't have 2 allies by your side. Just you and a silenced gun, limited ammo, but you have automatic takedown melee

What would be intresting:

- Stealth Mission

- Murder Mystery

- Bounty Chasing

- Diplomatic Mission

- Survival Horror Style of Missions

- Driving mission like an escape from a doomed planet or installation in Mako (Like Halo 3 End)

- Boarding an enemy ship or defending yours.

What I dont want at all or in extremely limited quantities:

- Roaming the wastes, searching and farming for materials

- Missions that offer bare minimal story or reason with lots of combat (like some ME2 missions)

- Clicking a few buttons and youre done - missions (Again ME2)

- No fetch quests like in ME3, go in here, pick up this from orbit and ur gone. If ur sending us to elcor homeworld to pick up refugees, let us land on the planet, instead of some damn scanning.

Base defense, with a random turret segment added in just because everyone loved those.

Oo! Quest's that are affected by your class.

eg.
-a quest where a sneaky npc/companion stealths into a location to disable defenses for your groups assault, but if your an infiltrator with a stealth cloak then you go in.
-if your an engineer then you could use your tech savvy to get an alternate resolution to a quest.

etc.

This. In my request for a stealth mission I forgot to mention that I want to be alone, without a squad.

No. If history has told us anything, its that  stealth missions shoehorned into a game that wasn't built from the ground up to be a stealth game are always lousy. Missions where we don't have squaddies once in a while could be cool though.

I would also like to see more Virmire style consequences, in all RPGs let alone ME. Although I'd like to see them do it slightly differently, as in perhaps you don't get to mike a final decision as to who you lose. Maybe the outcome is decided by your actions earlier in the mission. I'd also like to see the choice taken away from the player. What if you end up getting into a situation (Maybe one you could have avoided had you taken different steps or actions) where your LI or someone else you have a bond with has to put themselves in harm's way for you for once?

Well, Bio admitted that "we" must build up our colonies. Resource fetch quests is a given. The assignments of different mission types  is a key barometer of the game.

I'd like the game to allow me to assign

1. mundane, repetitive mission to AI Agents that, unlike the stupid DA:I ones, will bring home the bacon. This includes NPC quests. This may include quests that tie back to the main story arc. Leveling up and providing better gear to to the Agents will increase their performance.

2. assign  critical missions to the protag.

3. make all other mission types optional. That is, they can be assigned to AI Agents or handled by the protag.

Good post ; )

Boarding on enemy ship , I think that boarding on Geth ship in ME3 was really awsome mission , one of the best in original trilogy ;)

I agree completely.  :) Especially roaming the wastes and collecting materials gives me shivers,  it was boring in Skyrim, it was boring in Dragon Age Inquisition, it would most certainly be boring on ME:A.

Indeed. Picking flowers and rocks has in a fantasy or sci-fi game has never been anything but tedious. I just hope they had a goal in mind when they made each world we can explore. I have a suspicion that some of DA:I's areas were built before they knew what to do with them, hence the completely tangential irrelevancy of them as they had to fill them with things and then come up with completely arbitrary ties to the plot.

Basically in a Bioware game, a studio known for its writing, the first thing written on the whiteboard when they have development meetings or brainstorming for pretty much anything should be, "How does this relate to the plot, motivation or characterization?"

A mission like Noveria, with multiple ways to go through it, interesting NPCs (instead of like ME2 and 3 where EDI just says what is happening so you don't have to actually talk to people) and a unique enemy that you don't see everywhere (unlike the waves of blue suns, cerberus troopers, husks etc.)

While Noveria was nice in theory, most of the ways around it were basically just ways to bypass it. While I do like multiple approaches, I'd like them to be a bit more balanced if they go that way.

That's cool. And ME2 tried that a bit, and ME1 had it occasionally come up after a main story mission. The series never invested in side quest design but they had cool concepts they could have built on for ME3 but never used.
