Noveria and Virmire were arguably some of the best concieved leves of the trilogy, They did suffer rather heavy from techical restraints though, But the multiple paths and branches really wasn't something that returned in later games. Zaeed's quest is the only one I can think off.

Here's the minimap of the Virmire base, It actually looks more linear that in looks in the game because of the coastline and the above/below platform paths.

I never thought of Virmire as "branching" because I just farmed the entire map for XP - it's an RPG, after all. Can't let that precious, precious XP escape. ;)

That said, I thought Noveria was quite unique - Bioware never went back to the multiple dialogue path approach after it, really.

Non-linear is arguably a better word. I always thought the split of the Garage/Sewer entry was a nice touch.

I do agree with you the design was good - I just meant that I never appreciated that it was a distinct map for ME, and that they rarely went to the multiple paths approach, instead often having a figurative corridor.

-More stealth missions like Kasumi's or Arrival when you're sneaking around the Batarian camp.

-Occasion horde mode mission.

-Studying local fauna or ruins.

-Non combat diplomatic mission.

-Missions that have unique options depending on your class.

-Underwater exploration missions (favourite part of leviathan DLC).

I just want missions that are super combat heavy, lots of actions and fighting, preferably against evil humans who besmirch honor and good!

I am a huge fan of stealth missions
I'd like to see more sniper assassin like missions not unlike to Garrus's loyalty mission in ME2
Under water missions
Zero gravity missions
Seductions missions
I did like the Kasumi heist mission
Also I like the idea of political type missions where the words you choose are key ...
MEA needs some uniqueness.

Having said that one question does come to mind . Assuming that the ark did have room for certain flora and fauna that are essential to life coming from all species. A big part of colonization is finding suitable areas for said flora and fauna to grow . Or.. Finding suitable alternatives.. Now that could add a huge element to missions

I second all the calls for stealth missions for all the reasons people have stated above.

Investigation missions. Anyone who has played Secret World knows what I am talking about.  Not sure exactly how it would work in this context or even if it would, but something that is solved through thought not gunfire would be nice now and then.

I must be the only person in the world that liked the planet scanning, but given that resource gathering is going to happen like it or not I would prefer to go back to getting them the old planet scanning way.

Though it did have some coherence issues. On some paths through the story you can have Benezia's people fighting each other, for instance, and it's never made clear who reported geth on Noveria in the first place.

ME3 gameplay.

ME2 type side quest.

ME1 type main missions.

PERFECT.

Funny, I never really thought about this. I'm pretty sure no one at all ever mentions geth to Shepard once landing there. It would probably have been better if that mission was based on reports of Saren's interests there.

A mission similiar to Virmire that involves a squadmate dying no matter what, except instead of choosing between two humans, its between two aliens

And an option to sacrifice A, B, or C (all of the above;)

I wouldn't mind a bit of strategy in my missions - maybe something along the lines of Haestrom in ME2 (multiple paths each with their own disadvantages and technical difficulties due to the environment).

Also, I must say I really enjoyed (and still enjoy) the Mako explorations in ME1. Despite the empty planets and crazy physics, loved climbing those mountains just to see how high I could get and then free-falling to my heart's content. :D

Witcher 3 style quests with a side story. From the little we know, the game seems to lend itself to it, explore a new galaxy and build a rep.

 - I liked SWTOR's space missions, it was refreshing between planets, so i'd really like some space missions.

 - A lot of colony / base building missions, like how our new civilization will be operating, how it looks, functions.

 - Requisitions: I don't mind collecting minerals, as long as it is noticeable, helps to grow our colony in some meaningful way. Like DAI's Skyhold upgrades: Mage or Templar tower, Herb Garden or Chantry Garden, Infirmary or Practice Ground. I think the idea was good, because it added some personal flavor to our base, along with other cosmetics ones, like thornes, beds, tapestry, etc. So i like to see them expanded in a noticable way.

 - Mission's that can be completed different ways, with different outcomes. DAO, DA2, and ME1 had good ones. Noveria, Virmire, Werewolves / Elves, and small quest were doable in more than 1 ways

 - DAI's mage / templar quests were good too, i liked the consequences. More of these kinds of quests, a lot more.

 - Missions with moral dillemas, were we can shape our main character and/or companions and/or colony

 - Where we can be role model for others Y33dQia.gif

 - Team building missions

 - Ship upgrade missions

 - Base upgrade missions

 - Lots of story missions

 - Few-ish fetch quests

 - Some base management missions

 - Ship defence missions

 - Base defence missons

 - Awesome / cool Mako missions

 - Upgraded and imporved war table like missions, with more than 3 options to complete.

 - More ME2 Collector base type missions, where character backround / class mattered

 - Unique missions for each class, if backrounds and psychological profiles make a return, different missions for those too.

 - Basicly missions for endless replay ability, and endings which recognize those missions and how we completed them.

ME2 did have the best DLC. The only ones from 3 that can rival it are omega and citadel.
