Anyone else concerned about how we can transfer our old saved games onto the new consoles?

I asked this a long time ago and a member of BioWare did say to keep on eye out on posts, but unless I missed it, I haven't seen anything. If we can transfer our previous saved games from the last gen consoles to the new, I'd like to know how. I for example had an X-box 360 but now have a PS4. Seeing as they're non-compatible, wouldn't the only way to get around this, to make something similar to the 'Dragon Keep' for Dragon Age? If they made a Mass Effect version or something similar, we could use that on ME:A and not have to worry about transferring saved files over.

Have they mentioned anything that I just missed?

We are not concerned because our decision in previous mass effect won't affect this game, we are leaving for the andromeda galaxy to make sure the writer don't have to deal with all of our previous choice.

So there won't be any save transfer.

If anything does happen, and i don't really think that it will, it'll just be like the Keep and go strictly online so as to avoid the whole platform-specific thing.

I'm not sure that our decisions will be carrying over this time, given the entirely new cast and setting.  But they did say when setting up Dragon Age Keep that they intended to use it for other games as well.

Our saves probably aren't going to carry over. If they are (which I can almost guarantee they aren't), then I doubt any of the changes will be at all significant. More importantly, BioWare would probably recognize the generational shift as a problem and account for it in some way like the Tapestry for DA.

I am curious about how that will be handled but really it won't be that important since Ryder's story will be separate from Shepard's in more way than one.

If they decide to allow us to import decisions made in the Shepard Trilogy into Andromeda and future games, I am certain it will be with something like the Dragon Age Keep. Bioware has expressed a lot of satisfaction with how that has worked. I also bet this will be how we import our choices made in MEA to the next Mass Effect game after that, and so on.

I for one wouldn't mind that, I like the keep.  :)

Mmm, wonder if they had Mass Effect in mind or completely new games?

Seems like if we do transfer games over, it will most likely be through the same style as the Dragon Keep. I like the keep so I'd be happy with that.   :D

Since they're sending us all the way to Andromeda specifically to avoid having to acknowledge anything from the original trilogy, my guess is that we wont be importing any saves at all and any references to the OT will be stuff that wasn't choices.

Although if they did and used the Keep, that would work well. Even for PC I liked it since it means being able to define a world state without having to play through the game or find somebody else's save online with the exact choices you want.

For Inquisition you can import your PS3 save to a PS4 (granted one game versus an entire trilogy), however I don't know if you can put a 360 save towards a PS4 and or vice versa. So it is possible for cross-generation save imports. Even though this is a "sequel" in BioWare's eyes there will be references and easter eggs towards Shepard's trilogy. However, like what others have said they'll will most likely be a Mass Effect Keep that will be used for old and future games.

I think there will no need to transfer saves at all.

Any back story can be addressed in a cutscene conversation, if that is at all necessary.

I do expect a version of the 'Mass Effect "Keep"' ahead on MEA2.

No, no concern. Most likely there will be no file transfer and even if, it would just be another keep system. Maybe it will be called "The Vault"
