I know this should be in technical issues, but I figured I might get an answer more quickly here. Okay, so I came back to DA:I after...quite a break, and everything was fine. Then earlier this evening, the game decided--entirely on its own--to reset my graphics to "automatic" (thus lowering my quality to medium despite having a card capable of running high), and reset my key bindings as well as making helmets visible in-game again. Any ideas what would cause this? It was very annoying to have to readjust my graphics because I use custom settings on some of the options, and I really don't want to have to do it again. :(

EDIT: Oh, also forgot to mention that after I returned from dinner, the "continue" option was missing from the main menu. I had to load the save manually, which was pretty weird in and of itself.

Not sure how helpful this will be, but each character has a file associated with them that also includes settings (graphics/keybindings, audio, etc). This is located inside your save folder - It has profile in the file name. I suspect that, especially since you needed to manually load a save, that something wonky has happened within your saves folder - causing the reset. I don't know if you do this, but I always back up my saves on another drive for each of my PT's. That way, I can always reload clean saves if something goes awry. As long as you don't mess around in your saves folder - all should stay intact.

You mentioned keybindings, so I am making the assumption that you are on PC. If not, disregard.

I've had that happen before and, yes, it does seem to just be a random occurrence. I believe the profile gets corrupted or something, so after it happens, for a few days I keep back up copies of my profile after I re-do all the settings.

The file names are:

ProfileOptions

ProfileOptions_profile

and are located in the Saves folder

Yeah, I'm going to start backing up those files, because it just happened again. It's not game-breaking, just an annoying inconvenience. -.-

It's especially annoying because of the key-binding re-sets. I will keep hitting "E" to search and end up walking into a wall, or "spacebar" to pause and instead do whatever action they dumbly assigned to "spacebar" instead of pause.
