Prelude to a foursome.

Romances, the most cringest part of any Bioware game. People here actually base doing a playthrough of DAI simply to role-play a romance - if you don't believe me just read the DAI subsection. Anyways, Bioware occasionally does Romances right (liara) but I feel as do some, that Romances should be stripped.
There's no point to them and the time and energy spent making them should be spent on making characters actual characters instead of insert flirt here, 'we'll bang Ok' there.

Mmmmmmmmmmhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..............
Really? I woke up from a catnap, for this?
Yup... kinda sucks doesnt it?
Personally, I agree, but not the part about Liara. She's the most cringe worthy of all. But I've been saying this for awhile now. Unfortunately romances are the primary reason alot of people play EAware games. So I don't see it happening, ever.
I doubt that they're the primary reason for a lot of people. At best I'd say romances are one of the important reason for a good aumont of people, but I don't think there's many that play Bioware games with romances as the primary reason.
They said this time romances and relationship with other characters in general will be different from before, where with a few dialogues you can unlock friendship content (when there is) and romance content. I do hope they improve on this part of their games, regardless of the romance content.

Yeah right and leave out something that really makes Bioware games unique? (Most other devs don't offer romances - CD-Project did, but only because the main character of "The Witcher" was already in one (which luckily you can break off because I don't want Geralt to be mistreated by Yennefer, nothing is worth putting up with her IMHO...manipulative and ungrateful ****** with bad manners!) and is known for sleeping around! Other than those two I don't remember any devs that give you romances...) Fat chance!
You might not like all of the romances (I don't either, I don't like Ashley much for example) but condemning all of them because of that fact? Nope!
May I ask if you are a prude?

Virgin OP be like:

Hello Dutch, didn't you make a goodbye thread here two months ago, saying that you were going to take a break and never return again until MEA was out?
It's better if you don't point those things out. Apparently it can be considered Abusive behavious/trolling, and if someone reports you might get a warning.

He was trolling with that too. ![]()

"Oh no, I got a warning point on a forum where I discuss about made up characters and fictional stories with people I dont know"
I really don't know why people and mods take these contents so seriously. These threads make a lot of people laugh and have fun with the game lore. I am not here to be a commercialized victim who just gives the producers the information of how to sell their games better (and I hope I am not the only one =) )

I don't care much about the warning. It was just weird to get one for that reason.

Dude, its bait. Nobody would ever seriously suggest this.

Yep. I got one for pointing this out to a person who said a similar thing. The warning said it was classified as Abusive Behaviour.
The problem is, as the OP stated, romances are the worst part of Bioware games.
They feel like the worst writing. The worst cinematic design. The worst pacing of any part of a Bioware game is how you have 2-3 friendly conversations and unlock the romance. Pacing in a game where people are supposed to develop relationships over the span of weeks and months is terrible in Bioware games because Bioware games in general completely fail to represent the passage of time.
Bioware doesn't need to abandon romances, they need to really ****** step them up. If Bioware is going to insist on making romances a fundamental part of EVERY bioware game (and don't kid yourself, they made that decision about 5 years ago and romances are now firmly a part of the "Bioware Formula") then they should at least be good.
Bioware has been walking this line of insisting that romances have to be in their games to appease their weird/romance fanbase, but they've also been trying to cut corners and relegate romance content to limited fidelity and limited resources.
Bioware, if you're going to make romances a part of your games, then make them a better part of your games. They've been unrealistic and cheesy. To your credit, they have been getting better, but they are no where near good enough, or believable enough to justify shoehorning them into every game you ever make. Please, step it up, in the name of ROLEPLAYING.
You didn't even mention the Witcher 3 in this troll thread. You are getting less etertaining by the day.
I rate 2.7/10 "Like Skyrim, but without anything of value."

"BIoware, just get rid of romances, they're all drama anyway." Was a better thread.
Personally, I would enjoy a Mass Effect without romances - But I doubt that will ever happen since people seem to like that trash(romances) Bioware provides.
Not that I really care, They're not why I play these games.
I've wandered though, and it's not just Bioware, why does the romance story pretty much stop as soon as first (or is that third) contact is made. What about the fights, make up sex and all that other stuff that is a relationship?
I guess I answered my question with my first sentence.
