I agree romances should be stripped to allow more space for actual game content. I have a real life love interest, so see no point in them, I guess being a member of the real world makes a difference IMO.

As much as I couldn't care less for romances,  there is enough content in the Bioware games for me to  enjoy.

Why not give it to those those that enjoy a bit of romance in a game.  Not many other games cater to them,  they are allowed to have some escapism as well.

What would really ****** me off is if MEA was just a romance simulator.  Build a new game series without history for that.

Romances, the most cringest part of any Bioware game. People here actually base doing a playthrough of DAI simply to role-play a romance - if you don't believe me just read the DAI subsection. Anyways, Bioware occasionally does Romances right (liara) but I feel as do some, that Romances should be stripped.

There's no point to them and the time and energy spent making them should be spent on making characters actual characters instead of insert flirt here, 'we'll bang Ok' there.

Are you crazy? mad? romance is what makes me go around my man. I need, i love, i praise every single second i spent pursuing it...

You do know this is not actually love it is a game. You are pursuing a none existing love, it is simply press flirt key several times to get a sex scene, that to honest is cringe worthy. Really are people so desperate to feel fake romance, because they can not make the effort with real people. Honestly that makes me sad.

Well with all due respect, many peoples definitions of 'real life love' are as feeble as anything you find in a game.  In life there is romance and love and fake attempts at love, thus in games it should be there.  It would be like me saying, I have  gun in real life and shoot it so why should they have all these fake guns in a game?

Also for the most part all of this discussion is moot becasue BioWare has a reputation for having it in games and it is very popular, they won;t be getting rid of romances any time soon, they will build on them if anything.

This argument is dumb.

Take romance out of entertainment... because it hasn't been successful with people who have real-life relationships... says nobody in Hollywood ever.

This fake romance exist in the books, in the movies (not only in the romantic ones), and yet many people like it.

Its dumb to cater for immature folk, who can not find love, by providing some simplistic sim game content. Get a life believe me it is so much better. Trust me more shooting would definitely make the game better.

And more gathering and goat hunting! ... hurray!

How much time took away the romance of the game? Contact with your companions? Nor is it to be?

This is not your game then.

There are shooters, they have no romances, nor contacts, or only barely.

Let's not cater to people who can't go out and shoot people in real life. Strip out shooting.

Let's not cater to people who can't role play. Strip out RPG elements

Let's not cater to people who can't make their own stories. Strip out story

Let's not cater to people who can't make 3d models. Strip out 3d

Let's not cater to people who can't make sprites. Strip out graphics

Let's not cater to people who can't make games. Strip out game

Then keep your hand off your joy-stick.

I have love in real life, and I can promise that it doesn't negate my enjoyment of romantic stories by the slightest degree. Your assumptions are ridiculous.

I'm left handed and use the mouse with the left hand.  Nevertheless with keyboard/mouse mapping software, it isn't a problem.

There sure is a nice touch to the mouse.

I thought only console peasants indulged in such low vices.

You don't have to feel ashamed. It's just that if you feel it steals precious game time from you, you should look over your priorities.

Tell that to Ash, Kaiden and Liara in ME1 and Ash and Kaiden in ME3.

You know,  I did have a little problem with Liara in well all the games, but no one else.

Sorry, but I love the romances in the game. I'm hoping for more freedom rather than being stuck to a small group of choices.

The pleasure of killing should be enough, it definetly is 4 me.

I do too, we'll be celebrating our 27th anniversary in December and I'd marry him again.  But I still enjoy them.  Books (Count of Monte Cristo is one of my favorite books and romances, Witch World….) tv shows; movies and video games with a good story and choices in the romance.  The romance just adds a little extra to the story.  No reason to buy BioWare games before any other game without them.  I'd still buy them, but on sale.

Monte Cristo is a fine example of how romance should end: in death, blood vengeance, pain and the cries of PCs.
