I realize this is probably just a bait thread, but I'll humour it and answer honestly.
I don't think romances should be stripped from the game. I don't mind them (or at least some of them), and the ones that I do mind I just don't do them. Crazy, I know right? Nor do I pay mind to some of the more rabid fangirls/boys who get extremely hyped up over them/defensive about them. I really just don't pay them any mind and go on with my own business.
I don't play the games for the romance, but it is a nice little bonus if you want to go that route. I always found in funny in the Dragon Age games to romance someone - not for the actual romance - but for the party banter it included.
It doesn't remove anything from the game if you choose (not) to romance someone. And that's the way I like it, so everyone can be happy.
I am however 100% behind having romance end in bloodshed, tears, and anger though. Those are the best kinds.
If EAware doesn't do that kind of romance (only kind I like) I want none.
