Undead, so doesn't count.
That's racist.

It's something but not racist. Zombies are of all races.
Sort of like calling an Islamic a racist.
I shall have to invent a word which relates to stage of living. This way you can also caster for species like butterflies, who have three phases as well as undead.
Romances, the most cringest part of any Bioware game. People here actually base doing a playthrough of DAI simply to role-play a romance - if you don't believe me just read the DAI subsection. Anyways, Bioware occasionally does Romances right (liara) but I feel as do some, that Romances should be stripped.
There's no point to them and the time and energy spent making them should be spent on making characters actual characters instead of insert flirt here, 'we'll bang Ok' there.
(Elcor)Melodramatic: never. Hamster Poofy Poo and me will have most epic romance ever. Why don't you leave your parent's basement.(/Elcor)

Excuse me, but the Undead are a race. Haven't you ever played World of Warcraft? Stop erasing their unlived experiences!
It's really not an exaggeration, at least as far as the books go. Geralt is catnip for nearly every sorceress he meets, every one of which is beautiful. The first game in the series was really just following suit.Eh, the bolded sentence is a bit of an exaggeration. As for Geralt's appeal, there's the obvious stuff (he's handsome, powerful, exotic, and there's no risk of STDs or pregnancy), but I've also suspected for a while that The Witcher may have been largely influenced by Conan the Barbarian. On the latter character, a critic had this to say, and it's surprising how much of that could just as easily apply to Geralt

No I don't play WoW, I never knew. I sincerely apologize for what I've said about the Undead, past, present, and future as well as past and present lifetimes for human, cow and starfish versions of me as well as alternate versions of me in alternate universes.
I humbly beg your forgiveness.

I still don't agree at all, but that may come down to different interpretations. Still, this is not the place to discuss them, so I'll leave it at that.
And yes, the third game handled it very well, and vastly better than its predecessors. But frankly, I've always found charges of "wish-fulfillment" thrown at The Witcher, even at the worst of times, to be immensely hypocritical. Pot calling the kettle black and all that. Some people really ought to take a look around the Obsidian forums, see what they think of Bioware games and romances in particular.
Indeed, I agree Bioware romances (their games in general, really) are the poster boys for escapist wish fulfillment. So demanding they be less so is a bit... naive, at the very least.
SpoilerListen to Arishok.
So hot...
I think I've gone a bit into off-topic territory enough, frankly, so I won't go into details. Just wanted to say I find that to be a weird interpretation of the character.
And in turn, I find the denial of that contrast between them very strange indeed. Dandelion is named after a flower (buttercup in the original Polish) and wears puffy pants. His characterization as a dandy is well explored.

Your use of quotes seem to suggest that Han was the one to issue a charge of wish fulfillment against the Witcher in this discussion. Unless I missed something, he did not.
Sometimes it saddens me that some people's solely purpose of playing BW's games are romances (I often see the same people here gushing over certain characters over and over or discussing only romance stuff. Well, I've certainly contributed to that, but only a little). I don't mind romances, but this whole romancefest and the army of squealing fangirls are making me gradually lose interest in BW's games, because I simply can't handle that level of cringe. Solas. Solas everywhere.
Its dumb to cater for immature folk, who can not find love, by providing some simplistic sim game content. Get a life believe me it is so much better. Trust me more shooting would definitely make the game better.
"Why must it be an accusation? Romance is not the sole province of dithering ladies in frilly dresses. It is passion. It is being swept away in the pursuit of an ideal. What is not to like about that?" --Cassandra Pentaghast.
Seriously, what's wrong with OP? You can avoid romancing someone if you want. It is a choice like any other choice in games. No one forces you. Well, maybe in DA:O Leliana lol. She always misunderstood my female GW because her approval was high. I didn't even flirt with her.
But no, I didn't see any other case where PC was forced.
That wasn't my point either. Being male and having no idea how a female brain works, especially a 14 century one, I was just speculating as to one aspect of his attraction.
That was meant to be bit flippant.
It seems that Geralt is seen to be attractive by Bioware forum standards, and he is defiantly exotic, a bit like Asari.
People still take Dutch threads seriously?
... Why.
I think there are lots of reasons women (and men) might want to bang Geralt. The sterility and disease points just don't really do much - in the same way basically no one in the history of humanity let the abstract fact they could get an STD or knock someone up when there's no evidence either is more risky than usual stop them from having sex with someone they're into.
Let me put it like this: when you're at the stage that you're asking yourself whether you're getting someone pregnant or whether they're riddled with disease, you're already attracted to them.
I don't mean to single you out - people often offer this is a reason for why women want Geralt. It just makes no sense to me.
No, I'm not feeling singled out. All's good.
A witcher i real life doesn't exist but in retrospect his exotic nature seems way more apt, apart from the fact that apparently he is eye candy

I don't deny the contrast, I just think it serves a very different purpose than the one you proposed. If you'd like me to go into my personal interpretation, just PM me. I'd rather the thread didn't get too sidetracked.
And I wasn't suggesting Han was the one to make that accusation. If it came across that way, I apologize to him. With that I was responding to the people he was responding to originally. My point was that, IMOSHO, TW is far less of an escapist wish-fulfillment than Bioware games are, in the romance department as well as elsewhere.
That's not necessarily something against Bioware games. There's nothing inherently wrong with escapist wish-fulfillment, in whatever amounts it may come. But if you're going to bring other games into it, I feel the comparison should be fair. Too often it feels like people around here only bring up TW to either bash CDPR or bash Bioware.
Excuse me, but the Undead are a race. Haven't you ever played World of Warcraft? Stop erasing their unlived experiences!
You had a chance to write erace-ing then... not angry, disappointed.
The problem with romance is that it is not done well: It's all about the titilation, be it the power of someone who will always say yes (provided you follow the plan) or a fantasy someone can never have (aliens, for example), we're only going to focus on the lovemaking. Men and women both.
I loved the Samara romance, or even trying with Vivienne, because they actually told me no.

That you get off on different things does not make them superior things.
I'm gonna jump in on this conversation. What exactly is your point? That you get off on different things does not make them superior things.
I don't think there's such thing as having a point in this place.I'm gonna jump in on this conversation. What exactly is your point?
