I've made dozens of custom tints and all of them show up fine in the game except one. it is for a leather armor and shows up fine in the toolset, but in the game the armor is the default yucky one. any ideas what could be wrong?

Are you overriding existing TNT files, or extending materialtypes.gda?

Is the ID for the non-working one over 255 by any chance?

all of them are over 255. they start at 1001 and go to 1036. 1036 is the only one not working.

Have you tried swapping out the TNT file to confirm that is the culprit?

The best part after a multi-hour lighting bake discovering a bunch of artefacts and various other issues....

But in regards to the tint issue, take one of the working TNTs and rename a copy the same as the non-working one. See if that works in-game, or whether it still doesn't show up.

the tint works on all leather armors except the leather one.  the duster, elven, and studded get the tint fine, but for some reason the plain ol' leather just doesn't like it.  it's really weird because all my other tints work fine on it...I guess i'll just have to be happy with what I've got. *sigh*

Ah, it's not the tint that's the issue, it's a particular armour type. That will be a lack of a tint map presumably. A quick check of the game textures would suggest that light armour variant E only has a skin tint for the female. It is lacking tintable armour sections altogether on both sexes.

Grab the "nez_tintpak" from the Universal Dye Kit mod and that will add in the missing tint maps you need: http://www.nexusmods...onage/mods/1390

If you are planning on making a publicly released mod, you'd need to link to that file as a prerequisite. Nexus now actually has a pop-up warning with links if your file has dependencies, which is handy.

but that very same leather works with all my other tints. I have red, purple, black, green, and blue tints. all except the blue works on every variation of leather armor.

Upload the TNT file somewhere and I'll take a look at it.

You'll have to use some sort of free filehost like Mediafire, Mega, etc.

ok.  heading over to mediafire if i can get it to load.  windows 10 does not like my wifi and i therefore don't care too much for windows 10.

http://www.mediafire...2/bluetints.zip

it has pics of the red and black working on the leather armor and a pic of the blue working on the studded, although it's quit working on the studded now.  go figure.  I also included a copy of the tint file and the matproj file as well.

wait! I figured it out....dumb, dumb, dumb.....I had it in two separate folders. one in my mods folder and one in the packages folder. I deleted the folder in my mods folder and they are all playing nice now. sooooo terribly sorry for all the trouble.
