Being offended is all the rage now. I'm offended that I'm not allowed to be offended.

Then no platform me. :P

Lulz. The world has plenty of places where religion's iron grip is stronger than this "PC" terror ever could be.

Real equality is good. But also good is to understand what measures must be taken to achieve it, because we aren't nearly there yet.

Lulz. Obviously. The discussion is about the west, obviously there are places in the world today where the term "hell on earth" is rather applicable.

Many times due to religious fanaticism.

And you will never reach true equality and understanding by reversing hateful sentiments, and treating innocent bystanders that just want to live and let live like they moved your cheese, killed your dog, and offended you by not going out of their way to acknowledge your particular special snowflakiness.

Garlic bread is something, at any rate.

I'll need you to elaborate on "particular special snowflakiness," as it may be the root of this particular misunderstanding.

The thing I don't understand though, is that you think that the LGBT content comes at the expense of the rest. So far the content reserved was quite limited. If you had problems with the rest of DAI, other then the quality of Dorian's and Krem's content, is because Bioware messed up with the rest of the game, and that would've happened regardless. The main problem Some people had with DAI were more about the open world switch then the LGBT content. In this regard Bioware has a great disadvantage compared to other open world rpg developers, which is the massive aumont of resources companions draw.

                                                                                  <<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>>

Hm...

Dorian's story and dialogue are way better than others. My take is that Bio decided to focus on Dorian. Certainly the writing reveals this! And the rest? Maybe Bio messed up, maybe it was deliberate. All I know is that the writing was not there and I'm sure it must be finished and approved before the VO actors are hired.

The real irony is, that many times those that adopt the term SJW as a badge of honor,

Do people actually choose that moniker for themselves?

As near as I can tell (around these parts, anyway), the term is generally used a pejorative to dismiss someone's requests or arguments, or lump them in with some other group of supposed "undesirables".

That's exactly the point, it's a very open ended sentiment, it could be almost anything.

And the immediate reaction is sometimes to proudly adopt the term as a badge of honor. Chicken and egg.

Sometimes I feel like the only person who really appreciates DAs inclusive approach and just thinks the actual gameplay is awful.

I didn't like Dorian or Krem's lgbt content either. Too heavy-handed and peachy. One might even call it Captain Planetesque.

Sera's on the other hand was very well done.

Now who the hell is this Anita and what does SJW stand for?!

I think the term SJW will stay, not so much because it's meant to insult but as a label for  those with social views so fixed that they will no platform someone with an opposing opinion even if this opposing opinion is politely presented and argued.

Would that include people who argue to retain the status quo?

I sexually Identify as an the sun. Ever since I was a boy I dreamed of slamming hydrogen isotopes into each other to make helium & light and send it throught the galaxy. People say to me that a person being a star is Impossible and I’m ****** retarded but I don’t care, I’m beautiful. I’m having a plastic surgeon inflate me with hydrogen and raise my temperature to over 6000 °C. From now on I want you guys to call me “Sol” and respect my right to give you vitamin D and probably sunburns. If you can’t accept me you’re a fusionphobe and need to check your astral privilege. Thank you for being so understanding.

I know you didn't ask me, but fanatics are fanatics, no matter what side of the political spectrum they are on.

So depends on what you mean by "status quo" I will object to them as well.

Then this is going to get nowhere, because I have no idea what the behavior of these alleged fiends you're complaining about is.

I'm not aiming to go anywhere. Just explained my personal sentiments towards fanatics from the SJW camp.

If you need any more explanation, just go on Youtube and search for some hardcore preaching from them.

Snip

the term 'SJW' has become a kneejerk reactione to peoples who don't agree with equality.

Snip

Your right diversive content doesn't determin weather a game will be good or not.

Don't quite understand.

"equality" with what? Except for the concept of "equal before the Law" or "equal pay for equal work"  what exactly do you mean? The utopian meaning of equality sounds good but requires everything else to have the same baseline... which is a fool's dream.

If "diversive content" fails to  improve the fun, quality, interest, immersion or re-playability, why the insistence on diversity? Mass Effect is a shooter with cinematic RPG elements.  THAT and ONLY THAT, is why I bought ME1-3. Not because it lacked or included  social issues (well, plus the fact it supported the PC).

Anita very successful con artist. SJW social justice warrior, mostly used to insult with stupid "equality" people like this lovely lady.

Specifically in gaming,  I don't think Social Justice is a priority.  There are more important issues in the world than gaming, it's just our hobby.  There is also a cost in including every minority group in a game.

As I say,  most gamers want a good game regardless of content, you do have boors and teenage boys who rant against the machine. There has been no proof that violence has any negative impact on society, in fact the opposite can be shown as gun deaths have gun down since the start of video games.  Given this, I don't think Social Justice will have a relevant impact.

The game "Sunset" which has a black female protagonist in it failed to the point the company who made it went out of business,  This to me means either the game lacked gaming content, or the market isn't there. This will change, but in the meantime, your left with what does it cost to include this content and still sell.

This is a gaming forum, so I'm not going to address anything outside.

Thanks for not no platforming me.

Sure, but I frequently see people being called SJWs - casually and dismissively - for simply expressing a particular viewpoint or desire, where the person doing the name-calling displays a much higher level of fanaticism than the one who was called out for it.

Any means necessary? Are you crazy? Do you really understand the meaning of these words?

Are you going to call yourself the "Illusive Man" next?

Necessary, not expedient. There's a difference. An example of the former was blowing up the Bahak System.

Breaking news coming out of the SJW community: Garlic bread is now transphobic...!

Darn, I like garlic bread...

I'd return to the topic, but I'm struggling to recall what it was.

The CC:

  • Who knows, one day we may have a CC that simply has one range of different looking base faces to customise,
and you set the gender pronoun and voice you choose.
  • Truly I wouldn't care, so long as I can make the face I want to (with good hair).
  • More options for more people to play the way they want to play, great.

oh, and...

Where the fuk is the Mad Max "That's bait" gif in this thread????????

That's just the other side of the coin. Just like people throw variations of the word gamer dismissively. Or white. or Male. etc.

And I don't think that the fanaticism is higher or lower, it's just a response to a world view that cares very little about the actual quality of video games,

as long as the correct political agenda is pushed through and into them.
