I'd return to the topic, but I'm struggling to recall what it was.
 
The CC:

• Who knows, one day we may have a CC that simply has one range of different looking base faces to customise,
  and you set the gender pronoun and voice you choose.
• Truly I wouldn't care, so long as I can make the face I want to (with good hair).
• More options for more people to play the way they want to play, great.

Let's add this one:

* Choice of walk / run / idle animations, particularly if they're going to use animations that are heavily gender-ized.
 

And I don't think that the fanaticism is higher or lower, it's just a response to a world view that cares very little about the actual quality of video games,
as long as the correct political agenda is pushed through and into them.

Sure, but like a lot of other things, "quality" is subjective.

Beyond simple basics (software working as intended, not crashing, etc.), one's view of the quality of something depends on whether it meets your particular needs and preferences, or requirements. If you need to haul a lot of stuff, a truck might be your best bet, whereas if you want to travel fast and comfortably, you might prefer a Ferrari. If you need to go off-road, you'd likely want an SUV.

A lot of people seem to favor ME2, while others think it was the weakest of the trilogy.
