MESSAGE POPULAIRE !

I have a short, simple request for the developers. Could you add a 'Mirror of Transformation' right from the start? Perhaps as a option on the character sheet instead of a location you have yet to reach?

Somehow I had a more difficult time creating a custom face in DA:I than in for example Fallout 4. They'd look good in the character customization (which is pretty dark), still looked good in the first scene (a dark dungeon) but then I'd walk out into the very bright daylight and everything just seemed messed up.

That one of the first cinematic scenes is one in which the Inquisitor pulls a very strange face (when you start walking to the bridge that will collapse your glowing hand starts to hurt and you fall to your knees, pulling an awkward grimace) is usually the moment I decide: back to the drawing board.

I think there could be improvements, like the easy accessible 'Mirror of Transformation' right from the start, brighter light in the character customization and perhaps a few quite diverse facial expressions (like in Fallout 4) during the customization.

Especially if we are going to customize not one character but also possible family member, this would be a great help.

This has been a problem in pretty much every Mass Effect and Dragon Age game. You make a character that looks pretty good, the shading and colors are alright, but the moment you start the game - instant clown face.

The ideal would be to have a function to cycle through different lighting sets in the CC, such as day, night, exterior, interior, etc, and be able to move around the light source to see how it affects the look of the face under different shadow conditions.

As for changing appearance mid-game, it would be easy to just add a facial surgery unit to the medbay of the ship.

Well it doesn't need to be a magic mirror that is able to alter your appearance because space-magic. I would be fine with a surgery center like in fallout 4 on some of the planets or the tempest. Different options for CC lighting would be fine, too.

Nah bugger that. Just give us the option to scan photos and import faces that way. Problem solved.

I know. Mass Effect 1 was the worst with that though. I remember when I did my first female character and got her just right. Then first time she turns her face fully to the side in dialogue, her side profile was terrible. I agree, they could just put in on the ship. Also, I think adding a full 360 degree camera (in any game with CC) would help. Then you can see your face and hair from every angle.

Nice idea. The same happened to me on DAI, I stopped playing after 30 minutes and had to re-create a new character ... !

Never had this problem with my Shepard though.

It of course doesn't even have to be a surgery center. It can just be an option in the menu. It doesn't have to be explained in the game in any way.

Face code MUST be in this game too. It was one of many things ME2 did right and ME3 kept.

I always found it odd that there wasn't a Salon of sorts for facial modifications in ME at all, in ME1 they had 3 bars open to you and several weapon/armor stores, but no hair/facial Salons.

Almost thought in ME2 that the medical bay upgrade would allow that but no joy...

Seriously. They should have been in DA2 and DAI as well (although I'll give them that DAI had many more variables going on. They could have at least given us visible coordinates for all those damn grids).

I really hope this is in the game from the beginning, but I'll honestly trade it for a usable character creator. One that lets us change the lighting and actually rotate the camera all the way around our head, as opposed to locking it in what must be the most flattering range of angles.

If I had a nickel for everytime I had to sit through Shepards interminable death scene in ME2 just because I had to go back and fix my chipmunk cheeks, I'd have a sizable pile of nickels.

I must have been able to play that sequence blindfolded by the end of it for all the tries it took me.

I do like fall out 4 with their barber and surgery options.  I use the barber more often, but occasionally one needs a new shade of lipstick.

ME1 was a bit of a nightmare.  I'd start a game and get to Eden Prime quite and start over.    The different light options would be nice.

I don't think I've played it since 2011, but if I close my eyes, I can watch the whole thing play out start to finish.

It's good to see I'm not the only one! Not let's hope the developers will see this request. Sjosz, you watching?

I think they should offer a mirror in Ryder's cabin for small free aesthetic changes (hair length and color, beards, makeup, etc), but you've gotta pay when it comes to something substantial.

I do agree that I had some trouble creating in DA: I. My dwarf looked fine in the beginning, but whenever he turned his head, his nose was gigantic.

It's difficult for any CC to simulate everything. Best to let us fix things later.

I'm hoping that the CC is in the cryothingie with nice bright scifi lighting.

Yeah they definitely need better lighting for the CC, in DA : I not only did I have trouble creating the Inquisitor, it was worse when it came to Hawke, who's CC had barely had any lighting.

EA will probably dictate that it's a microtransaction.

Yes! And seriously, just a mirror in your cabin/area/bunk..idk. But just a little mirror there next to your wardrobe so you can make changes..for whatever reason you want. Maybe you need to make tweaks on the initial character, or maybe you just want to alter their appearance for RP reasons.

Yeah, they have it in FO4, but they also had it in Saints Row way back; Amalur had this, too.

That "awkward face" yeeaahh. I don;t think that has to do with the CC. It's just an awful exaggerated BooBoo face animation. It's awful.

But yes. Mirror right away. In your room. It should be a given at this point.

It's good to have a face change station so you can fix mistakes without having to restart the game over and over.

I remember my first shepard looked fine until she turned her head and eugh.

An object in the medbay of our home base/ship would work fine. No need to give an in game explanation, just have it sitting there.

I never had this problem in Mass Effect since I always used the default Shepard, but I had that exact same problem in DAI.  As I think you suggest, the easiest solution to this is just to let players to change the character's cosmetic appearance whenever they want. I do not know why game developers only allow you access to this in the first 3 minutes of the game when you aren't even used to the way the graphics work or feel. I am pretty sure I have restated every RPG I have ever played becasue the appearance after the game started was unsatisfactory. So long as the appearance has no effect on the story or combat content of the game there seems no reason to block people from changing facial appearance at will.
