The aim is to make good faces.

And the aim is to make that process as painless as possible. Only way to do that is completely skip the CC stuff and just import photos instead.

Being able to make changes whenever you want should pretty much be mandatory in every game where you create your own character. You might as well go through character creation blindfolded, because what you come up with isn't going to remotely resemble what your character's going to look like in actual gameplay. I can't tell you how many times I've created a character that seemed fine at first but ended up being ruined by one or two little issues that could've easily been fixed if I was just allowed to make a few tweaks. But nope, it's always either restart the entire friggin game or just accept that your character has fish DNA.

There was an NBA game that did that. I remember that being a disaster and a half.

I'd prefer it to either be in the character menu, or as a console on board your ship. Somewhere you can easily and freely alter your appearance whenever you want.

NBA games are stupid. Anyway, and hardly the graphical juggernaut that MEA is supposed to be.

Except that only works if you are trying to create a character based on the appearance of a real person which is not what a number of people, myself included, are trying to do: we're creating a character more or less from the metaphorical foundation and up.

Body shape of a real person is definitely out.  Cloth physics is not there yet.

I wouldn't mind if the option was there. If only to see all the funny videos of various abominations such a system would generate.

I'd love it if the Black Emporium was in MEA. It would be located on a desolate planet that turns out to be where the Dragon Age series takes place millions of years ago and poor old Xenon is still stuck there completely crazy from being all alone.

Why can't Bioware just throw in some sweet little microtransations? Who needs some dumb mirror when you could just throw money at the screen? Of course, EA would price it fairly. $15.99 USD for a one time hair transplant seems pretty fair. If you wan't the deluxe experience, you can get the "Lazarus Project Voucher" for $29.99.

This is of course a totally rad and non-satirical suggestion, and I hope Bioware listens to it.

Character creation lightning has been notoriously bad in a lot of games. My main gripe with ME2 & 3 is sitting through the cutscenes and crap over and over when correcting minor issues on my character. I would very much appreciate both in-game edits, plus a savepoint that automatically creates a savefile at character creation that you can easily reload to.

I've seen the request for a mirror of transformation and storage before the release of most Bioware games. For whatever reason, they always wait until sometime after release to give us these features. It's not like they don't know we want these features at release. It really hurts the momentum of the game when you have to stop and reload to create yet another face and hope that you remember what you did with the last one to fix whatever you don't like.

You are asking for some good will from EA / Bio.

A highly demanded feature like this one is either given via a paid DLC or when you pre-order the game. EA never throws out an opportunity to make money (that I'm aware of). The benefit to EA/Bio is obvious.

Yup, so adding it for free right away in the base game is perhaps already on the table in ME:A. But then I still rather have it in the options menu than as a physical location that doesn't show up right away

I agree. I'd rather have it in the options menu as well or at least in my home location. I don't like having to trek somewhere to play around with my characters looks. I don't even need an explanation like plastic surgery to explain why my character's looks suddenly changed. It's just something I'm willing to accept to make character creation easier.

I've always liked the "import your face" option that many EA sports games have had. I feel like, if done correctly, it could add an whole new since of immersion in the game. I do agree that there needs to be better facial options when creating a character as well.

I've had problems making acceptable faces for Shepard and the Inquisitor (in my opinion) and thus I'd wholly accept plastic security in the game so I change my PC's face in case I don't agree with it

Considering the Normandy in the trilogy had a bed for surgery I'm surprised remaking Shepard's face was never a feature. Hopefully It'll be put in Andromeda.

Nah bugger that. Just give us the option to scan photos and import faces that way. Problem solved.

Not convinced an 'ugly generator' is a good idea.

I realise some people 'self-insert', but I never got that...
