I wouldn't mind an immersive way, such as surgery or whatever, at a sort of commercial Hub. But then I want my squadmates and shipmates to comment sth along the lines of "you look different today. Is it your hair?" or sth comical.
Please add 'Mirror of Transformation' right away

If your appearance is attracting comment, it is unlikely to be your hair

Heck why not sex change as well. We could experience romance as lgbt in one playthrough.
The voice acting budget would be astronomical though.

ME1 was the worst for creating Femshep, spent hours trying to get rid of her duck beak mouth, ME2 and 3 weren't nearly as bad but it really would have been nice to be able to go to a salon and change a bid after wandering around within the game.

I have a short, simple request for the developers. Could you add a 'Mirror of Transformation' right from the start? Perhaps as a option on the character sheet instead of a location you have yet to reach?
Somehow I had a more difficult time creating a custom face in DA:I than in for example Fallout 4. They'd look good in the character customization (which is pretty dark), still looked good in the first scene (a dark dungeon) but then I'd walk out into the very bright daylight and everything just seemed messed up.
That one of the first cinematic scenes is one in which the Inquisitor pulls a very strange face (when you start walking to the bridge that will collapse your glowing hand starts to hurt and you fall to your knees, pulling an awkward grimace) is usually the moment I decide: back to the drawing board.
I think there could be improvements, like the easy accessible 'Mirror of Transformation' right from the start, brighter light in the character customization and perhaps a few quite diverse facial expressions (like in Fallout 4) during the customization.
Especially if we are going to customize not one character but also possible family member, this would be a great help.
It wont happen. You are asking Bioware to take a technological leap of faith. Hell, in 2016 they have yet to pull off a day/night cycle in ANY of the games they have released.

(Elcor voice) Neutral: bock role play. Want insta gratification. (/Elcor) All srsness, i think if we have the option – "Black Armory" anyone – it should be separate from the Options. However, it should have a "Demo" function. A lot of people have been mentioning this and really, it could be as simple as a button which says "Check the Ship" which then initiates Ryder pathing all around the Tempest, in the various light brightnesses, until we're happy with the face/body we made.

Oh that's a great idea. Can be implemented in all kinds of ways, a tour of the ship being one of them. A short bit where the devs can do some exposition and story setup and show the character in various angles and lighting situations. Then a query to continue or change appearance and repeat the sequence. Would be immersive, and some other games do this too, I remember Oblivion gave you a chance to change appearance or confirm it after the tutorial sewer section. Except that didn't work out very well as the lighting in both the original CC and at the end of the tutorial was absolutely dreadful.

I'm not very good at detecting changes in people, so I guess with hair. I cannot be the only one :}

"Space Surgery" they could call it.
The only thing I use it for is "growing" my beard anyway. I start off clean shaven, then I'll visit this to grow a stubble, then a beard. I could've done that in DAI, but the hair was pretty terrible in that game.

I'd keep my expectations low in that regard, some studios just can't seem to put out decent hair options. Bethesda also chronically struggles to deliver decent hair.

And the aim is to make that process as painless as possible. Only way to do that is completely skip the CC stuff and just import photos instead.
No thanks. I enjoy spend 5 hours fiddling with my characters nose. But if they have this as one option for people who want it, why not.

I'd love it if the Black Emporium was in MEA. It would be located on a desolate planet that turns out to be where the Dragon Age series takes place millions of years ago and poor old Xenon is still stuck there completely crazy from being all alone.
This would actually make me sort of happy. I'd giggle ever time I went to visit him.

FA4 has this too, in addition to the surgeons. I have one saved game just before I leave the vault and I use this for making a new character because I don't want to do the beginning over and over. Did this in Skyrim also. It would be nice to have both.
Yes, lighting is so important and usually not very good.

FA4 was a little better than usual. Well, except for the hair magazines which were terrible. Really disappointing. for me, was hoping for a nice pony tail and got a mushroom cloud.

He looks like Wrex. Not sure.
There is one somewhere else. I don't know where that is, though.

Edit... From the DA Wikia: During Promise of Destruction in the Castle of Caer Oswin, in the corridor where you meet Cassandra's apprentice, go to the eastern end of the hall, and there is a krogan head mounted on a wall.

Greets to OP,
This topic was discussed quite early in the General Discussion Forum. It deserves attention though.
Unfortunately, since I was told that "polishing" actually means polishing, by a Dev, (in reference to game level development). This feature is either already in the game or it's not.
Now I hope he was talking about "no new combat level designs".
Cheers,
