Ha! You're on
! Other than keeping a tally with pen and paper I don't know how to track nightmare trips past the 250 that the game tracks. ![]()

Just to make everyone with a Hakkon hard luck story feel better, sit down and let me tell you me tale of woe...
I've done c.350 NM dragon runs, 3 HB, have 110/120/140 stats, 830 prestige, nearly 2M gold.
And no Hakkon. Not one.
Weirdly I have got Dancer's Axe, Silencer, Tezpadem, Stinking Cheater, Kingfisher, etc.
But no Hakkon.
At this point I figure my account is bugged (assuming that is even a thing) - I've just read silversmurf's odds of the first Hakkon drop from a NM dragon. If it's 16% each time you run until one has dropped, then I'm currently at a 1 in 300,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 chance of not having got one in 350 runs...*
Which I think is the point where I get off the ride. I keep meeting people with half my time in the game who have 4 or 5. One of a group of friends I run with got two different ones in consecutive NM runs with me!
Sigh.

* no, really - it's the odds of throwing a bag of 350 dice and not having a single 6 on any of them.

It certainly is a bad run of luck where Hakkon's are concerned.
If it makes you feel any better the Dancer's Axe is harder to get than the first 4 Hakkons....

Thanks 'smurf
I know I've got some stuff that is super-rare, which makes the Hakkon-less-ness all the more weird. Wouldn't bother me quite as much but that my cunning has always been my highest stat, so the crit dmg would be v welcome.
The lack of awesome damage makes me slightly more of a passenger in nm and definitely hb than I'd like...I can rock the SS through pure crit-speed (and the Silencer), and be a useful Barrierbas with the HoP, but everything else is a bit...slow. Just grinding the Willpower points now, damage going up half a percent at a time...argh! ![]()

Still only my Hakkon bow, BUT...I got BRAND last night! (level 27 unique, elemental sword). It is AWESOME! I equipped it on my Lego with two sup crit damage bonus rings (heal on kill on the grip), and a sup frost rune. and my lego is finally doing some decent damage. It tears up Despair demons. Very few enemies seem to be immune to the damage it puts out. I have to try it with my Templar now. When the Immolate kicks in it is AWESOME! Everything around me BURNS! This sword is making it FUN to play my warriors.
Anyone have better ideas of how to get more damage out of this sword, by either affects with a new grip, or rings to wear or passives to boost damage? The Lego has so few damage passives. I always play him with Livid, Shield Bash, Walking Fortress and Combat Roll. My Shield Bash does between 4,000 - 5,000 damage with the Lego. My stats now are 124/125/125

Maybe scrap walking fortress for war cry. Then, get the cutting words passive right next to it for 20% damage increase to taunted targets. Getting counterstrike would really be the ideal setup since the taunt radius seems to be much larger and then all the enemies would run to you. More enemies around you=more enemies hit per swing=more enemies affected by immolate or shield bash, etc. Only problem is counterstrike requires a lot of skill points to get.

My friend has been building her Lego like that and is really liking it. It makes a great cross-character combo with the Aavar and his Crushing Leap. Taunt-enemy swarm clumped together-BAM! Crushing Leap disintegrates the all...OR pulling them all onto the Alchemists mines. 4th of July baby.
Not enough players consider the power of cross-class combos and bring in characters based on that.

I think my counterstrike is broken.
I kept trying it and sure, the few enemies next to me come wrack me a few times but the ones far away just kind of ignore me knowing that I am no threat to them! The other thing is that shield block takes up so much stamina, by the 5th or 6th block you are out completely and have to recover and missed all the extra blocks before they ran off to chase after the AW with pact belt. I spent so much time trying to recover stamina I can't use payback strike because if I use it I will be out of stamina. I think I need to switch out the PI for stamina amulet or that aggression amulet which I never tried. ![]()

Wintersbreath is overrated and provides a modest damage increase (<20% not 50%). If damage is what interests you, then March of the Everlasting or the Dwarven Proven Shield (more cunning, i.e., crit chance) may be a better choices. Particularly, if you are constructing a taut-based build where you will be (or should be) surrounded by opposition. I use shield wall w/ upgrade, counterstrike, war cry, and payback strike w/ upgrade. Shieldbash is fine too, but damage wise it is identical to PS (excepting guard damage, but that can be overcome via the guard smasher passive -100% guard damage bonus) and SB requires two additional ability points whereas PS is pre-selected. Mandatory passives: flow of battle, balanced combat (learn shield wall), hamstring, and crippling blows. Choose others based on your play-style and stats (within the context of game difficulty).
Play as a taunting, blocking tank and you'll consistently gain the most XP for your team. Kill opportunistically, for now. As your stats increase, Lego becomes the ultimate warrior; a screaming, blocking, killing, xp generating machine.

I have run over 500 NM dragons I bet, and only gotten one Hakkon from it, so I do get where you are all coming from. Luckily, I got a PI amulet the other day, which was at the very top of my want list. That has been a lot of fun to play with.
As for cunning, I stopped at 180, since I want to actually get to use the Hakkon bow or dagger if I ever get them, without wasting rogue promotes past 200. It did leave my hunter hanging out with about 220 completed missions, but hopefully I get that bow one day. Archer is fun, I must say. I occasionally still play silent sister in heartbreaker too.

What shield are you using? Isatunoll is the best defensive shield in the game and should help mitigate some of the lost stamina.

I do have the Dwarven Proving shield. I'll have to try that. That could be the little bit extra that I'm looking for.

I was using magehunter. I never used the Issy shield because I think it looks like the a transformer logo.
Transformers. More then meets the eye.

For what it is worth, here is a brief video showing how I play. It's solo, thus not entirely representative of in-game team tactics (or lack of). Regardless, you can see how I use shield wall and maintain stamina. Nothing novel.
Note the difference between damage xp and support xp.

I use counterstrike and it takes me down to about 25% stamina, same as you in your video. Now I can block about 2 or 3 hits and it will be empty and have to wait for stamina by doing basic attacks, like you did. By the time I tried shield block again... nobody wants to hit me (except for the same 2 guys I am still trying to kill as my basic attack is less than half your damage
) because all the other guys are after the other players in the group. ![]()
I did found war cry more effective as it uses less stamina and it has very fast cooldown with flow of battle. I just need to move around more and try to taunt everything locally and hit them.

What cruel punishment by BioWare to force people to play nightmare FC for so many matches.
worst map, most bug filled map, low cash map.
I have all the Hakkons but I will be playing alot more of FC Nightmare finally becasue I need nightmare games and FC gold. Blech

Don't overplay any single class. I know a lot of people who have done this and GREATLY regret it. The logic that if you can kill everything in sight because you have high crit or willpower is flawed. One Saarabas jumping on your head and you are one-hit dead. In effect you become a glass cannon. I can't tell you how many people I've played with that I've had to pick up over and over again because they have no health. You might be able to do a lot of damage, but you are very vulnerable due to lack of constitution. It's annoying to teammates and frustrating for you.
How much better to play a balanced game... build your stats up together. I play a balanced game. I never let any stat get any more than 10 higher than any of the others. Right now, I'm at 100/101/102. I always have a class available that I like to play. The guys I know who have way overplayed their mages and rogues to get high damage now have to grind warriors for ever to catch up and make the game more playable. Many just give up the game because that kind of grind is soooooo....tedious! Just my two cents.
