when you're running a lightmap will it mess it up if you do something else on the pc while it's running? like would it screw it up if I opened notepad and worked on dialog while the toolset is running?

When I was doing it, it seemed a little unstable, so I tried not to do other things in case it caused a crash, but I don't know if it actually helped.

I used to treat it the same as video encoding or 3D rendering. Set it to go just before I went to bed and let it run while I was asleep.

that's how I usually do it too, but I've finally got everything except for the areas back to pre-crash state. I figured I would run new lightmaps for my levels since there aren't any residual files hiding anywhere at the moment. it is way faster than my old pc running them but they still take a while. I'm running my last now. yippeeee! lol
