Forum and BioWare Newbie here!
I've been reading a lot of mixed responses about BioWare points so I'm hoping someone can clear this up for me..

Basically I want to buy DLC for ME2 which I have on steam, so as far as I can see I need to buy that from the BioWare website. However I've seen a fair few posts saying BioWare points don't work anymore etc. Is this true?

I also want to be able to buy ME3 DLC so I'm also wondering if I can buy points, can I use those on origin too?

Thanks!

Are Bioware points different from Origin points? Cuz I have a bunch of those and I still don't know if they're useful for anything.

I bought some BioWare Points from Origin for ME2  Genesis, I don't remember what else I got but I got the two companions Kasumi and Zaeed.  I might have got some weapons too, maybe.

Bioware points still work. The place to buy them would be from Amazon rather than direct from Bioware https://www.amazon.c...e/dp/B00C7B0F32.

You can buy the points in the values you need. ME3 DLC can be bought for regular money through Origin, so I'd go that route for them.

Bioware Points are a currency, similar to the old Microsoft Points system. Origin Points is gamerscore and just numbers given for earning achievements in some EA games, it is just there for show.

Thanks for the replies guys!

Any particular reason to go through Amazon rather than Bioware?  I can only find ME3's Citadel dlc on amazon and no ME2 dlc... the only place I can find ME2 dlc is Bioware so I'm wondering if there's a reason not to buy through them...?

The reason to go through Amazon is that you can buy the points amount you need for the DLC that you want, whereas buying direct means you can only get set amounts (400, 800, and 1200 if I recall correctly). This means you don't end up with small amounts of Bioware points that can't be used for anything.

On the page I linked to all the story DLC for ME2 that costs is on the page, simply click on the one you want and add it to your basket.

Ah I see! And yes, I rechecked the link and saw I missed them the first time, sorry!

But thank you for your help! Super looking forward to playing through these! :D

Edit: Ah... another question, if I were to download these from Origin as they say, would I be able to use them for the steam version of ME2?

After purchase in Origin they should appear here https://social.biowa...ntitlements.php.

Download them and install, should detect the ME2 install automatically. Or just redeem the Bioware points at the social site and purchase from here https://social.biowa...om/page/me2-dlc. Then download from the above link.
