So yeah I was wondering this. Have they said what races are coming with us to Andromeda? Will the hanar, Elcore, Drell, Quarian, or Volus be there? Or are we just getting the major council races?
So are all the races coming with us or just the council races?

I expect all the council races and 1 or 2 minor races.
Krogan
Salarian
Turian
Asari
Volus
Drell
It just wouldn't be the same without the Volus

I have no idea which races are coming with us but I want a very good explanation why any of the races are coming with us unless it is a global project and not just human project.

I'd imagine the council races will along with 1 or 2 of the others 1 of which obviously appears to be krogan I'd say.

Wait, 1 or 2 of 1 of...what? Slow down a second. I'm confused.

The rumored leak of a secret fan panel at Pax in 2013 claimed that participants were asked which two species they'd least like too see return, or something to that effect. Assuming that leak is legit, which appears to be the case, Bioware may not have been planning on bringing them all back.
On the other hand that alleged leak claimed that Quarians and Krogan were the two chosen by the majority of the panel, and we know Krogan are back.

It will be interesting to see how they explain the presence of some and absence of others. One way to deal with the latter is to have multiple arks launched, and somehow lose contact with the ship(s) carrying the MW species that won't be in MEA. That would also mean that they could be reintroduced in a sequel, with our group finding any other arks from which we were previously separated.

Well, I mean, we can't take everyone, you know? I mean, yeah, it would be cool if we could save your family Mr. Yahg, but you see...well. There just isn't room. We needed to pack more humans and Asari in so the breeding could keep up with the Krogan and Salarians...You understand how it is, I'm sure...

Correct me if I'm wrong but all we know about so far are Krogan, Asari, and I think someone spotted a Salarian in some of the media released.

It'd be insanely stupid to launch multiple arks on a potentially high-risk journey and then neglect to spread out the contents of them evenly. As in all races present are not split up but divided to have a presence on each one.

That doesn't mean the writers won't do it if it solves some problems for them.

Not so sure - you'd want a viable breeding group. It might be a reasonable tactic on a risky mission ('we made it') to group species together on ships so that even if only one ship surivives, there'd be a chance for survival of and a future for the occupants of that ship.

The Yahg aren't spacefaring so arent in danger from the reapers. I"m thinking only the council species.

I can't imagine why failed species like the Krogan would get invited along, or monsters like the Vorcha. Humans, Salarians, Asari and Turians only pls.

Idk, considering the apparent size of these things, viable breeding groups wouldn't be much of a problem. Any guess as to how many individuals would be on one ark? For humans you technically only need some 150~200 people for a technically viable gene pool if I remember correctly. That's not ideal, but it's not a lot either there's probably room for a bunch more.
Eh, we don't know enough yet to make any sensible assumptions.
