Sigh. I debated whether to like your post for understanding that reference. It's not exactly a badge of honor.
It isn't. Nevertheless I did get it ![]()

What? No, they feel like a bag of sand ... when you touch them ...
Edit: looks like I was beaten, but I'll leave it anyways
Let's hope at least a tigh bodysuit like major Kusanagi in gits, i don't like bulky armor.
Or maybe a bomber jacket or somethin like Batou for casual wear. IF we have casual wear.Let's hope at least a tigh bodysuit like major Kusanagi in gits, i don't like bulky armor.
Same reason Miranda paraded around in an almost identical outfit, with a cameltoe and a bubble butt.
Same reason reporter Emily Wong parades around in this:
Same reason the medics and other scientists run around in this skin-tight, suggestive getup:
Is it just me or does the doctor actually have a massive six pack? Not bad...
It wouldn't be a bad idea to have casual clothes that are revealing and practical armor that is practical. Or even tight practical armor for stealthy folks. Having clothes outside of armor would give us insight into a character's fashion sense, which could add to their character, and armor would make sense. Plus, there's more room for customization. Aaaand you could wear more revealing clothing in dialogue situations, or even more classy clothing, to persuade people or make them have an idea of who you are implanted in their head.

Well you need to lift body's of people and aliens so.
Boobs cups would probably chafe and hurt. Underwire bras are bad enough to wear. Imagine stuffing your balls into a protruding hard armor cup designed just to emphasize your manliness. Does it sound comfortable and conducive to combat readiness?
Actually men do stuff their equipment into protectors which are hard plastic for games like cricket. It most certainly did chafe and was uncomfortable, but I wouldn't say it hurt. Unless you were hit there with a cricket ball traveling at 100mph.
Anyway I actually agree with your post, it would be silly to wear something so uncomfortable in a combat situation.

The difference between a cup and boob armor is that the former is meant to safeguard your goolies while the latter is purely ornamentation while being a liability for the wearer.
To be fair, skin tight getup is a sci-fi trope for both genders. I actually didn't see as much of an issue with that outfit, anymore than the usual alliance form fitting t-shirts.
I didn't have an issue with the tight outfit that Chakwas wore as it somehow seemed appropriate given the setting. I'm trying to put my finger on why her outfit didn't sexualize her while other examples of tight outfits are guilty. Chakwas outfit doesn't have any unprofessional cutouts, like Wong's outfit, and she doesn't seem to be vacuum sealed in like with Miranda's catsuit. I seriously don't know how else Miranda's outfit follows her butt crack so well unless she was sealed in. It makes no sense and reminds me of the women that are painted to look clothed. I guess, the bottom line is that Chakwas looks clothed and professional. She doesn't appear out of place in the setting or like she's a doctor that just happens to be on her way to the club.
^ It's likely the colour of the outfit. It's a sombre grey and white with arm patches that looked like department insignia. She ought to have a Systems Alliance insignia and rank too since she served the navy. But since Bioware chose to be superficial about military rank and file, bells and whistles and lazily dubbed a coat of paint here and there and labeled it "military navy"... *shrug*
I think the hairstyle (or is that lack of hairstyle) also contributes.

Good points. The coloring helps and the outfit just doesn't seem to draw the eye to any of her secondary sex characteristics. Here boobs are covered, no cutouts, there's no emphasis on her butt. For a tight outfit with a bit of sex appeal, I say well done. Others might disagree but I just don't find much fault with this outfit. Wong's outfit, on the other hand is everything done wrong. She's supposed to be a professional and they put her in a cut out dress more suited for private sexy time. And, it's just ugly. lol

If there's a high chance you're gonna die in battle you may aswell go out looking fab.
And nobody is going to notice the fabolous-ness -including yourself- because everyone will be busy exchanging bullets and getting blown to bits instead of watching boob-shaped armor plates.
The only thing that you'll notice is projectiles plowing through your sternum because of the suboptimally-shaped weakened chest plate.

Yeah but I'll be wearing fab armour when I get buried.
riddled with bullets, but still fab.

Chakwas sexualized? LOL. Some people will complain about anything...
As for Wong, how do you know what reporters will be wearing in the future(in a fictional universe)? Or better yet, here's an answer to Wong being 'unprofessional' according to your standards:
Btw, it's just a generic dress that several NPC's wear... same with Chakwas and her scientist outfit.
