I got hit once by the the armature outside liaras dig site... I died, The games loaded back in the start... I quit the game and refused to continue.
The Autosave is terrible.

ME1 was made many years ago... when it was a thing to manually save game progress and not rely so much on the autosave. Some newer games I play don't allow you to manually save at all (at least on the consoles), so they tend to autosave more frequently. Conversely, you can manually save game progress in ME1 whenever their are no enemies around (i.e. on your radar). The autosaves only happen when you first land on a planet.

I've got a habit of just hitting Quicksave after every fight, that way if I die I only go back to just before the fight.
Otherwise, if I relied on Autosave, I've never get anywhere.

This is one of those games where that jazz can bite you. Just like the old Doom back in the day - you'd best learn to save and save often. Quicksave is your friend. On PC quicksave was F6 in ME1 and F5 in ME2. Switching and flipping from gamescan get you all borked up.

A lesson to learn is to save and save often. I know I have a obsession with saving my games too much.

Luckily I don't. Unless I just got thru some tough combat...or am about to talk to someone...or a cutscene might happen...or it's just before a big choice...or there might be a paragon/renegade interrupt.
But other than that I don't bother. ![]()

Another reason to save is that sometimes the Mako gets stuck in the sky.

I've never had that one before...
Sometimes it can be catapulted up into the air and hang their flipping around.
I wouldn't say it is all that common, probably happened to me only like 3 times.

I don't think I've ever had that one. I did manage to land the Mako flat on it's roof once and had to reload... no bouncing or jetting out of that one. ![]()

It's okay, happened to me twice when I played that game and I just took a break from it and picked up where I left off!
