Syn-kill is?

Ha, I remember coming from SP and not knowing what a sync kill was too. I played infiltrator on my first SP playthrough, and always kept my distance from those nasty Banshees, so I didn't know what they were capable of. I was pretty scorned after the first one, haha!

I bought all my accounts.  Everyone just thinks I'm good.

I NO RITE  :P

Oh, and the most important tip: If you see someone meleeing you between the waves (especially a Krogan headbutting you) - you HAVE to melee back, unless you want to branded a Pyjack for life and get thrown out of the Krannt

Example:

Looks like mandatory fun.

Hey, just want to say that I am over 50 as well. But I have been playing this game since it came out back in 2012, I believe. You have come to the right place. I only joined this forum this year. I learnt by playing bronze. I even tried solo. Bronze solo is a walk in the park as long as I keep my head and not get too cocky. Silver solo is also no problem, like a gentle exercise. Gold solo, well, only attempted it less than 20 times but only managed it twice. Platinum solo, less than 10 but only managed it once. That was about two or three years ago now. Since then I have only played multiplayer with random players. I type to communicate as I don't use the mic. You can add me if you want. Oh, there seems to be a bug with Origin. Everytime I turned on  Origin in game, my game will crash. So, I have it off. If you see me in a game, I won't be able to answer your call. Really sorry. But then again, since you are in Austrialia, the time difference will need some arrangement to fix a time for a game.

By the way, in this forum, you can search for build as reference so you can improve quicker. I regreted that I didn't join this forum years ago. People here are great. Friendly, bit nutty sometimes but all good people. :) Have fun.

I won't be starting anytime soon,  have a big backlog.  Closer to MEA, I'll do it.

You can start your own solo server?

Is origin ingame still bugged?  was for me last time I tried a year ago.

^ You can just ready up and play alone. Do some Bronze matches solo to get a feel for it.

SP Insanity is not much harder than MP Silver.

SP insanity is much easier than bronze, to be honest.

Unless you play in real time, then it's around silver level I think.

This is really in an anticipation of MEA but thought I'd get better answers here.

My only every attempt at multiplayer was ME3 was to raise readiness such that I could get all endings. I actually quite enjoyed it to my surprise, so it's conceivable that I might dip my toe in again. I was struggling even on the lowest difficult servers

so here are the issues,  I'm a bit of a loner and none of my friends play on PC,  and I don't even own a microphone.  I'm over 50 and started playing late so the twitch skills aren't there.  Nevertheless I beat all 3 games on hardest difficulty.

I get 21ms ping to to my ISP in Australia.

Am I beyond hope? Is there anything I can do other than play with randoms alot to git gud?

Edit PC player.

yeah,  I remember right hand advantage.  Out of likes.

I guess there is a thread somewhere in here speculating on the possibility of swapping hands?

That works in Gears of War, but in ME3 it's not possible

You could also watch his other videos and learn from them, they are pretty good.

I still haven't mastered this. People have explained it to me over and over how to do it but I can't seem to figure it out. This video might help me out as well, gonna take a look at it! It's a good thing when the more experienced players can help the newer ones out like this :)

Personally, I never use the medigel trick xcalizorz and others have shown. I stick with power use or going into a sprint. But it's partly because I really don't want to have to re-map anything on my keyboard. :x

It is, but there are a lot of ways to do it, so if the gel trick doesn't work for you there are other methods you can try. :)

^ Yeah, I have been playing gears 3's horde mode the past couple of nights...it can switch direction of shooting but only in hard cover....which feels weird shooting left handed.

Oh lol, I had no idea. I'm such a noob. I don't even know all the different expressions and what they mean yet, there's so much to learn!! :D

I think it's really confusing. I guess I'll slowly get there in time :)

Actually, after I became adjusted to playing gold here.. I went back and did my 2nd Insanity run in SP...it was so much more easier than the 1st time I did it because of how much harder MP's difficulty's were....there were a few parts in the campaign that were a pain in the arse.....ie  saving aria in the final part on omega and the doppelganger fight in the normandy's cargo hangar..but other than that...it made the single player game really fun

If you hold Aim Down Sights and back away from the cover, you can stay lefty while you move around as long as you keep the button down

Yeah but none is as effective as the medi gel one. If you really wanna master reload canceling, you need to use that, no way around it.

Can't use medigel to reload cancel on PS3.

I would recommend practicing it as the Juggernaut. You wont die just because you mess it up, and all he needs is the X button, really helps you pick up the timing. After that, move onto a Batarian or something, then you are ready to use a human adept and destroy everything ;)

Yeah, it happened to me too. Though my Shepard was... Let's say a bit unusual, so I had to try real hard to actually find something that could kill me...

And I found out that Banshees could! Of all things!

Because, you know... Banshees in SP can actually sync you even when they're in warp mode. Lol I had to find that out the hard way :pinched:

Reading some of the stuff from the sticky post near the top of the forum will give you an instant bump in skill just by knowing about stuff like combo detonations and right hand advantage and gun mechanics, also like someone else said earlier a lot of us are happy to carry people along while they learn
