I'm interested if the Bio writers included the local races to have their own psychology.

For example:

It doesn't follow that our own psychology will be a close match for that of an alien society emerging from an entirely different evolutionary process. Also, I would disagree with the premise that they must have evolved as a social species and thus be pre-inclined to cooperate with new ones.

The Khet appear to be a war-like species that goes to war to "get your stuff" because "it's there", I suppose. And, if we meet a race of Insectoids, I really doubt we can have anything in common from a social perspective (Hive mind?)

Bottom line

Will we be able to understand them properly or will misunderstandings occur because of race pre-conceptions?

Thoughts?

Wouldn't Khet being war-like and wanting to take our stuff be basically the same as human psychology?

On a side note: can't imagine them really being called Khet. So similar to Geth.

It would be nice for the aliens of Andromeda to 'feel' alien, and not be so 'humanised', but I can obviously understand the difficulties in making that happen maybe. Meeting giant blobs that try to absorb us into their folds of blobby fat as a way of communication, but being taken as a hostile act by us, and then us starting a war with the giant space blobs because we think they're trying to eat us would be one such misunderstanding, aye. I mean I want that to happen. The space blob thing. Please. Bioware.

Of course the Khet should be evil, otherwise it would make the ME3 ending even more stupid.

And the "Remnant" is too similar to "Reapers" in my opinion too, even though they are just two syllable words and begin with an R. It's not very imaginative.

I am 100% supportive of truly alien aliens. Bioware did it with the Rachni and Geth, two species that were extraordinarily alien in their psychology. I think there will be one or two creative species like that in Andromeda.

I think maybe he is assuming the Khet are synthetic? (They aren't)

Otherwise, I don't know.

Ah. That's what I thought. Good to know they are not.

We dont really know if Khet are an actual name of the alien race or the name of their faction.

We dont even know if that name ends up in the finished game, all we know from the leaks (some of which may not be true) are that theyre supposed to be skeletal, looking like a cross between vorcha and the collectors, and theyre described as "arrogant".

Well, the name Khet came from the big leak, and so far the majority of that leak has been totally accurate.

The description of what *might* be the Khet came from a previous leak, which described a species that looked like a cross between Vorcha and Collectors, and another golem type species with bright orange lines on their body. That latter one was probably shown in the E3 trailer for sure, and a Reddit user found an image of a dev in that trailer working by the computers, and on one computer is displayed a new alien that looks very much like the description of the other one, and might be a Khet. Interestingly, it looked like it was a party member (standing with two other figures with the Tempest in the background on a planet surface).

So yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and say I think that earlier leak is confirmed now too.

But that's not to say they won't change their name, and I hope they do, because Khet sounds way too much like Geth. After all, the Citadel was called the "Oculus" (my god that was dumb) for a significant part of Mass Effects development. There's was even an article in GameInformer or something about it.

They don't need to be truly aliens to be have an alien psychology.

For example:

A human like species that matches our physiology but mates once every 5 years (think Vulcans). Once in heat the female controls all the males she wants to mate with by sending them a "special scent" card. The males, once exposed, will literally drop everything they do (super critical or mundane) and can't think of nothing else but of coupling.... for the next 4 months or so.  Outside the "spell" of their females. the males act as if they have been neutered and cannot understand  our "constant" mating rituals.

I'm thinking the Khet will be the Protean equivalent for the Andromeda Galaxy and they have enslaved all or most of the other species forcing them to supply their massive empire. They welcome a fight and love putting others down hard then forces the survivors to slave for them. Just check out all Javik has to say and you will likely have the psychology of the Khet.

Maybe if you liverate some of them they will be happy to provide you with supplies and intel.

As you fight the Khet you might also get some QEC updates from the colonisation efforts in other Clusters and possibly their fight with the Khet which is inevitable unless they manage to hide.

Since this is kind of a new beginning and soft reboot, the name khet could be throwback to ME1 as the Mako is, so its likely purposely made to sound like "geth".

Or the writers have a writer's block and ran out of names. LOL.

You know, we could run into a alien matriarchal society where the females are intelligent, 3 meters tall, no sense of humour,  and the society's warriors. Males are 1 meter tall, not very intelligent  and rat like.  The cluster's species in contact with these aliens see the male-female coupling as a huge source of material for sexual butt jokes.

Which reminds me. Is any specie truly intelligent if  they cannot laugh?

I'd like to see eusociality explored without the fantasy "hive mind" telepathy going on.
