I don't think that it necessarily be evil or selfish to not submit to the demands of Orlais or Ferelden. Trying to use the Inquisition to re-establish a sovereign elven homeland, for example - where Andrastian elves wouldn't be killed in acts of genocide and the Dalish would be free to follow their culture and religion without being attacked - would have been nice. You could want to continue the Inquisition to continue supporting Briala, who I see as the most ideal candidate to help the elves in Orlais and the Dales.

There's also the hypocrisy of Tegan's claims (in the post-Dalish Boon world state) because Bioware changed the outcome of the Dalish Boon, and now Redcliffe owns the Hinterlands that were given to the Dalish.

I don't think this is evil or selfish, but I do think it would end in a bloody mess. Refusing to cede power and trying to establish a sovereign kingdom within the borders of other sovereign kingdoms was never going to go over well.

My solution to this would be to sign a treaty with Ferelden and cede any territory taken there. If the Inquisition can be an ally of Ferelden and a bulwark against Orlais, then Orlais would stand alone against Ferelden, the Inquisition, probably Nevarra, and definitely the Divine. I think that should allow the Inquisition to retain its full power.

Why not ask Tegan to give the territory of the Hinterlands back to the Dalish in exchange for removing your armies from the territories? He's accusing you for being where you don't believe, but the same is true of him in the worldstate where the Crown gave the Hinterlands to the Dalish.

Because that decision isn't in the Keep, alas.

But we're speaking in hypotheticals here.

In that case, because the Inquisitor isn't speaking on behalf of the Dalish in these negotiations. The (possible) First of a clan that has never had any stake in the Hinterlands, and in fact has no need of them due to having either settled in Wycome or been wiped out, gives you effectively no ground to do anything here. If you wanted the Hinterlands that badly, you'd have needed to start preparing for this probably immediately after Corypheus' defeat, and I suspect no one would thank you for it.

I agree. I wanted my Inquisitor to rule Thedas. ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL. hahaha. She would rule with an iron fist. To heck with everyone else

I'd argue, since the Hinterlands were given to the Dalish and not simply one single clan, that Lavellan has a right to use Redcliffe taking the land away from the Dalish during this meeting. It's a completely fair issue to bring up since Tegan is addressing the Inquisition being in Ferelden. I think it would be less of an issue than taking the side of Ferelden over Orlais in negotiations (which can easily backfire against you).

And I'd imagine the Dalish might thank you for returning the Hinterlands to them. ;)

If that did happen, Teagan would in turn have every right to say that any of the Dalish's land in the Hinterlands could only be used for the Dalish to live on, and not for the purposes of the Inquisition. And then he still would have ceded something in negotiations, which would count against you.

However, I think it'd be more fruitful to build on the Wycome success anyway.

I'd say that the entire point of the negotiations would be to get something in return - Tegan wants the Inquisition to leave Ferelden, so why not get the Hinterlands back for the Dalish in exchange? Maybe it would be better to circumvent their demands and delegate the military might of the Inquisition in Orlais to Marquise Briala, thereby agreeing to dissolve the Inquisition but in effect hand over the actual military power stationed in Orlais and the Dales to a member of the Orlesian nobility?

You're welcome to disagree, of course. I just think that a treaty between the Inquisition and Ferelden against Orlais could easily backfire, regardless of who you have on the throne. They could likely turn from wanting you to become an Orlesian power to wanting you disbanded, and it's possible Ferelden could turn against you to avoid being targeted by Orlais (given what happened to the Night Elves after the war, the abandonment of the Magi Boon, the betrayal of the Dalish Boon - I'm simply saying Ferelden doesn't have the best track record in this department).

However, I think it'd be more fruitful to build on the Wycome success anyway.

But Wycome is one city-state in the Free Marches, and it likely would not have enough room for the myriad of clans who populate Thedas. If it's an issue of building on the success of Lavellan having political power in Wycome, I suppose Lavellan could stay in Kirkwall, use his (or her) political power as Comte and friendship with Viscount Varric to aid them against any potential threats. Maybe use the coffers of the Inquisition to purchase land near Kirkwall so that the Dalish have a place to permanently settle and finally build a real future for themselves. There's Sundermount, the Wounded Coast, the Vinmark Mountains, even the Planasene Forest (the finances of the Inquisition did seem to be quite extensive).

The two choices in trespasser were either to

1. Disband the Inquisition

2. Downsize the Inquisition and submit it under the Divine

Now I understand why Bioware did not write in more choices. BUT those choices limit the sort of characters that you could play.

My good character disbanded the Inquisition. My mage hating but Chantry loving character downsized and submitted under the Divine. Both made sense.

BUT my selfish Dalish Mage who just raised the BEST army in the south, would never downsize, disband, or submit under anyone. She declared the Inquisition for herself, and eliminated all rivals to her own personal power. She wanted to control a kingdom basically. There should have been a 3rd choice for a selfish or evil character to essentially say no to both Orlais and Ferelden and to dare them to act.

Basically an act of defiance in light of Solas' threat. The Inquisition should have been given a possible ending like the Teutonic Knights, which eventually became their own kingdom.

There is a lot of choices what we do not have in DAI

atleast such...

1)choices of OUR alliances(like choice to help or not to Maevaris Tilani opposition or others) OUR advisors and OUR general....they should be different, more neutral as it would be better if they would depend on who we have as alliance....so if we have mages we should have a mage advisor(like Fiona) or templar-Cullen if we have more templars

2)choices of core of our army what is no matter what is only Kirkwall templars butchers with Cullen and some Cassandra seekers

3)Choices to not help any Orlais ruler what really changes nothng, we could have only Briala(or any elven/human leader of  Orlais common folk or any high noble puppet) for Orlais support but in reality we never need it to fight with Coryfeus as with ferelden what was showed in tresspacer and it was obvious that such thing with what we see in tresspacer happened

4)choice to not let Orlais Chantry to have a new divine as have restore it controll, at least have a choice to controll new Divine policy

5)Choice to reveal truth about Inquisitor powers and their elven gods origin not a andraste or maker

6)Choice to execute-banish Dorian so he would not become a Magister

7)Choice to get rid from Mother Giselle. Lelianna and Cullen, Cassandra, replace them with other people after Inquisitor have all powers and control over Inquisition

8)Choice to help or at least not stop Solas

I think the Inquisition would probably end up squished by Orlais and Ferelden at least and the Inquisitor drawn and quartered if you completely refused to cede power.

Yeah Inquisition was big but probably still weaker than its surrounding neighbors!

But this outcome would also be completely fine, what's imprtant is to have a choice to make, not to control the outcome of it.

Most of these seem rather random, weird and pointlessly extreme. Why would you kill Dorian to prevent him from becoming a magister? It's just a public office. That's like saying let's kill someone so they don't become a senator.

Also why would you replace your most trusted allies with some random, rank and file folk? And how would you help Solas since his plan entails destroying the known world, including yourself??

Along those same lines, you could add pretty much anything, no matter how random or ridiculous, such as:

9) Choice to blow up Skyhold

10) Choice to let Corypheus destroy the world

11) Choice to kill yourself before the final battle

etc....
