Didn't Tywin call Cersei on that?

I believe so.

That episode was really good. It was cool to see six seasons worth of moving chess pieces finally lining up.

She's going to have a pretty short rule based on that final scene.

From what I'm learning of the episode - GRRM seems only a master of wasting my time with useless plots and characters that end up going nowhere.

It's like he despises the basic writing principle of just writing relevant material and needs to add a bunch of characters just to say:  "Look how deadly my world is."

Sad, poor writing - but it seems like audiences love it - so who am I to say.

I love his characterization - his world-building is mediocre (he IS the opposite of Tolkien after all) - but all this wasted characterization and plot line development is really just telling me that "less is more" was totally lost on this writer who might turn out, I believe, to not be as good as I first thought.

Please, Bioaware, give us the option to play really really really evil

How about having a female main antagonist?

But this season is not based in any book published

But this season is not based in any book published

But it is based on his notes and the direction he wants to take the series.

So many characters wasted.  What was the point?  What was the point of anything that happened on Essos?  What was the point of even introducing the Tyrells?  Yes, we can - and many fans will - invent reasons why these things HAD to be developed.  But they really truly didn't on a creator level.

Even Tom Bombadil's little scenes have more relevance in Fellowship than what is turning out to be most of GRRMs characters.

It's like he is only now deciding which one's he wanted to keep... yes, life does work this way - sometimes people come and go without contributing... but you don't write entire passages about those people.

NOTE:  I really enjoyed the first books of ASoIaF... and I actually really enjoyed this season so far of the show - but I've lowered my expectation of GRRMs mastery of the craft of fantasy since my first experiences with his writing.

NOTE 2:  Because it has to be said on this super sensitive site... yes this is my opinion.
