I need about 750k melee on my alt account.

As I don't have a Kroguard yet (my overall favorite melee character), I'm thinking of going with this build

Thoughts? Opinions?

Do you like swords? Do you have a Slayer or Shadow? Shadow would be the true space ninja. I don't remember if shadow strike counts toward melee kills, but if it does I'd go with her. Forgot to add, the drell heavy melee is fast as **** and with cloak should do decent damage. There is also the sexbot melee kit and human adept as well. More Edit: If you're taking a shotgun I'd go with the venom if you have it since that will stagger much better than any of the others and since you're using an infiltrator weight doesn't matter a whole lot. Adrenaline mods as well since you want to be in and out. There is also the melee GI as well, slap the falcon or venom and go to town. You can get a double tap melee in a cloak cycle and that will kill every mook and captain tier enemy, bosses would be its weakness and if you have friends try to get a volus to follow you around for extra lulz.

I would take the shadow, her heavy melee is aoe so you can run into silver/gold mobs when cloaked and melee multiple of then at once. claymore or gps are my goto weapon for that playstyle.

No Venom or omni blade yet, I just included the highest shotgun I have that can strip shields fast, then heavy melee.

The AIU is a good idea, i'll probably try that. The GI is too squishy without an abundance of consumables (cyclonics and shield power cells) which I don't have, plus I like playing the GI as a weapon kit, although I do recognize it is the most powerful melee kit in the game.

Edit: the Shadow bores me TBH, in 2012 when I first started playing Gold, it was my first go to kit (spam that electric slash out the door of FBW!). Although I do like the passive movement speed ..

You could also try a QFI melee build:

Volus batglove build.

Volus make great ninjas....

Right up to the point when they are required to jump.

Edit: Watching a Volus perform a 'Crane Kick' would pretty much make my day lol.

You don't deserve an answer, because you totally tricked me into thinking this was a thread about the Shadow. >8(

But if it was me, I'd drop the grenades (except that I can't remember what the non-sniper option of TC Rank 6 is, so maybe I wouldn't) and use a Crusader or Paladin to replace the SR I would normally equip. That way, the RM still debuffs for melee, but I can take advantage of wallhax sniping the way I normally would with Drell Assassin.

And now I might do this, just for sh*ts and giggles.

I have never tried a Drell melee build, although I have thought about it many times.  I use Drell heavy melee a lot.

Also, I never see it mentioned, but the Fury actually has pretty good melee capability.  It has amazing range and AOE, kind of like if you combined Asari and Krogan heavy melee.  Fury light melee is pretty good too.

The Cabal is also a great melee kit, and with Biotic Focus spam and teleport dodges, she's almost unkillable on Silver and pretty effective on Gold.  You can just use your heavy melee to teleport from mook to mook slashing the f*** out of them.

Fury's heavy melee is by far the coolest heavy melee in the entire game.

I'm pretty sure there is a YouTube video of someone playing a Fury heavy melee build (on Gold?, maybe even Silver, certainly not Platinum).

Doesn't have ninja sword or mask, so probably isn't a ninja.

Infiltrators are decent for getting melee points.  The 1000000 melee points challenge is one of the biggest pure grind ones and one of my least favorite.  I prefer Warlord, Battlemaster or possibly AIU.

That is a stereotype. Real ninjas were mostly just farmers with ordinary clothes and few of them actually used swords.

The Fury doesn't wear a ninja mask but she does wear a Darth Revan mask. And a hood.

She doesn't need a sword because her heavy melee damages you with the raw power of her anger.

Thanks for the responses all, since I posted this I got busy at work and haven't really been able to return.

Although I have to say, 157 views and 14 responses? Obviously people aren't taking the whole 'Responses are mandatory' seriously. JK

The whole idea for the Reegar is so I can strip boss shields, then punch them right where it hurts .. the armor

Well playing melee shadow(not shadow strike) is different then electric slash spam which is optional.

The reason I have trouble playing the Shadow like this is the evo 5 in fitness. For a melee build you effectively have to take 5A for the large increase to melee damage, but 5b is what provides the movement speed.

I am a slave to movement speed and cannot pass up, keeps me alive more than anything else in this game, especially for a melee build kit that has low base hp / shields. But taking it gimps the shadows melee damage rather significantly.

As stated many times on this forum, choosing between hp/shields and melee damage was a game design flaw. And this evo of the Shadows fitness tree may be the worst representation of this in the game ..

No, you had to have a mask and ninja outfit regardless of if you were a ninja in Japan, Ireland, or Maryland.

^ she can still 1 shot Phantoms without the Martial Artist. Just saying. The damage vs armor is going to suck though.

My build spec'ed completely out of electric slash. It seems to work pretty well. (I hardly used ES when I had a few points in it, so I put it into the Alliance Training tree, IIRC.)
