The krogan still are terrorists. Lots of krogan mercs do crappy things, and there is the Blood Pack.

The fans just like them because of Wrex "Dinosaur Jesus"

Except that even Krogan mercenaries are limited to being ground pounders, because they are forced to hitch a ride from either whomever is currently employing them or local transports, so they have a major disadvantage that that limits their movements and how much they can do.

One of the conditions imposed on them post-Krogan Rebellions was that they had to decommission their navy, with Salarian spy satellites still in the Aralakh System by the time of ME3 to ensure that they aren't secretly remobilising once more.

The Krogan having no starships is why their forces had to be ferried to Palaven by the Turians and the Alliance in ME3.

Hopefully it's one who isn't abrasive to you and whom you can romance.

All for a Batarian squadmate, strictly platonic tho, just eww to anything more.

I have to confess there is something about Batarians that make me slighly queasy... sorry :(

a bridge too far for me also.

Why would I want to ally with those anti-human slave-taking scum?

That's a good question. As a Ruthless Colonist, my Shepard would never, ever ally with Batarians.

When it comes to something as important as continuation of life, I don't think there is going to be any form of discrimination on who should live and who shouldn't. Just because most of the Batarians are considered to be terrorists or just because one person or the other doesn't like them, is it okay to just condemn their whole race to extinction? It would be nice to see them getting a second chance.

Even if one of them doesn't make it as squad mate, it would be nice to see them included.

Why not? I mean something new is always good and how about we stop seeing the race as "the evil human haters" and think about what characters could come from that racial background. I think there is a lot of hidden potential. And I think; if the Krogans a rather poor and not that popular race (go ask a Salarian), with a low chance of repopulating a new galaxy, will be in andromeda why not other races? It doesn't mean they get their own ark but I'm sure some highly skilled individuals could have been chosen to come to andromenda too. So I could see them coming at least as NPCs. I wouldn't mind them as a crewmate either but my hopes are not really up for them because let's face it we will get the same old races we used to before. Human, Krogan and of course Asari. Not really exciting because we know these pretty well by now.

I would think it'd make for some great story telling, especially considering Batarians were still taking slaves during ME2 and 3. I imagine words like bitter and disgruntled would come to mind, though, if all the good deeds Shepard had done in the past were added up, they'd probably would readily accept, though with their own doubts about the sincerity of the council races.

I love the "I don't like that race, so it should die" logic around these parts.

Krogans were bloody terrorists too, but because Bio actually gave them a "saviors of the galaxy" role people are okay with them. I just think it'd be cool if Bio gave batarians the chance to redeem themselves as they did with the krogans; hell, even the mother effing rachni redeemed themselves by blaming everything on the Reapers.

I don't want to see the quarians, drell, vorcha or/and batarians die just because some people think they don't have a place. What if we suddenly don't have asari/turians/salarians anymore, people will be cool with that too? F*** that. Live and let live.

This is how the fanbase seems to works:

Did I get at least one character from this race in my squad who kissed my a$$?? I like this race.

Did I have no character from this race in my squad and someone from this race wasn't nice to me??? I hate the whole race.

Dear Bioware,

Please give us a Batarian squadmate!

Why?  What's so special about batarians?

I'd much rather see new races that are well developed. I'm ready to move on.

Javik, Sten, Iron Bull and Dorian's culture say "Hi".

I'd agree but I see there's a lot of anti-Batarian feeling.  Personally, I always thought that species was severely under-explored in the trilogy.

The Batarians are one of my favourite ME aliens so BIG YES.

Wouldn't mind if their appearance was retconned aswell. Give them a more "alien" body.

Someone said earlier that Zaeed should have been Batarian. He could have been ex-SIU. Wouldn't that have been nice?
