Single shots is best in general for bosses, charged shots are mainly effective if you have several units grouped closely together.

Rong. Charge that **** all day. Sometimes you get that double shot bug where you can follow up with 1-2 more single shots in rapid succession. Though depending on your kit you should be mixing in powers to charge effectively.

No, with the Arc pistol you only want charged shots, uncharged it's very weak but charged it does massive damage.

It's one of the best guns in the game, but it takes a bit of practice, some people like Techno Turian are insanely good with it, watch some of her videos to see it in action.

Yeah I think it's a bit difficult and different to use. I often don't charge it because I feel there's not time enough for it.

I've heard the Arc Pistol is way more difficult to use on console, so I have no advice to offer on that front. Great gun tho.

If you can do the double shot trick consistently, that's the best (one charged+one normal shot in succession). Otherwise, use uncharged shots if you're host, and charged if you're not.

I don't know for sure but I remember Alfonse saying that uncharged shots have a better dps. Charged shots are better for crowd control of course. 

 

The gun is connection dependant though, when I'm off-host I know that most of my uncharged shots fired on the ground will be blank, and that would still happen quite often when I'm host. So I mostly use charged shots actually.

Don't feel bad if you can't reproduce what you see : gamepads aren't reactive enough for that. As for the Arc pistol, as Patrick said it's one of the best gun in the game. Basically it's not optimal for close range fighters (because of the charge mechanism), but for all other characters it's absolutely great. The weapon has 3 modes : uncharged shots, charged shots that consume 2 bullets, and charged shots that consume 3 bullets (the longer you charge, the higher the damage). The later is the best, with enough weapon damage bonus it allows you to one hit kill most mooks, since the Arc pistol ignores the shield gate.

The akward thing about it, is that you have to get used to releasing the trigger to shot, not pressing it.

 

When i have played alot of arc pistol, i tend to randomly fire my weapon in the next game or two, cos the charging is mucle memory by then.

He considers charged Venom shots in the face more effective than speeches about love to put back lost sheeps on the right track. Two different methods for two different times.

It's not more difficult per se, it's that you can't really aim with the right thumb stick and use powers simultaneously unless you use the claw or get creative. Idk if you've ever played Halo on console, but bumper jumper is so popular (especially in the competitive community) because you can jump (and melee) without having to take your thumb off the stick.

 

EDIT: Also sprinting around corners would be nice too. If I have a charged weapon and want to sprint around a corner I have to hold right trigger with ring finger, hold 'A' with index and thumb on thumb stick. It's not really worth it most of the time...

Yeah, it was described to me as something like "finger gymnastics."

Heh, finger gymnastics is the perfect description and it can get odd. I know when I use the paladin w/ arc pistol I use my thumb to do snap freeze (mapped to right bumper) and always try to do it from behind a wall. Halo had a similar problem, historically jump was mapped to the 'A' button and melee 'B'. Bumper jumper (I think it started in Halo 3) put those on the bumpers so you could aim and jump/melee simultaneously.

My channel has a lot of garbage on it to wade through and I haven't been doing many arc pistol runs that recently cuz some nerve problems in the hands make the charges annoying so there's not many on the main page, would just suggest this playlist if you want to watch a lot of arc pistol stuff.  All except Glacier Hazard are Arc.

I waste a lot of Cobras when playing with charge weapons. They are a blight.

Even worse. Such Sheep will also have to pay more Tax now says the Finance Minister. Wait wut? Nobody said this on the tellie. Twisted lies full of Venom.

OT : Shoot Venom at the feet and ARC in the Face. Happy Face. Load Venom when you notice an infiltrator in da Lobby. Infiltrator have no issue to Cloak all that aggro to you. So you should also get no issue to spread screen shakes to him. Hang like sheep sht on a wool pullover. 2gether4ever. Happier Face.
