Personally anything that expands upon the dialogue or cut scene system sounds amazing

I don't think you know how biotics work. that's what your friggin omni tool is for.

*sigh* Flex that imagination a little more. Think of what miniature Shockwaves would do to molecules, if made small enough. Excite them. What happens when molecules get excited… heat. Does this mean it would work the first time? Hell no. I imagine i'd be sitting in a puddle of coffee for the first couple times until i got smart and practiced with the coffee in a sink or tub. Preferably, nearly indestructable sink or tub.

At least it's different. We've run out of on-topic discussions as it is.

I'm no scientist but I'm pretty sure biotic doesn't heat things up. There's an app for that on someone's omni tool I'm sure.

Well heat energy (when not in the form of electromagnetic radiation) is basically particles vibrating/moving quickly so the mini biotic-shockwaves could actually heat up the liquid (or whatever).

Oh, sorry. You said you didn't want a science lesson. My bad.

I really don't care about the science of it. Did you look that up? No way you knew that off the top of your head. Unless you're a scientist or studying science. Why go through all that confusing science stuff when you can just use a omni heater to heat up coffee. There's only two things I'll use biotics for, destroying the enemy and whatever else I want to use it for like holsters my gun or act like a jedi. Certainly not to heat my coffee. Unnecessary science is unnecessary when you have an omni app that you can buy for 5 credits.

I'm genuinely flattered that you take me for some sort of scientific genius, but it's not really that confusing or hard to remember.
Though it's not as if that one specific piece of information will ever come in useful later on, anyway.
Now if you excuse me, I'm off to the omni-app store to buy myself an omni-kettle.

I literally forgot everything from all my science classes. Well.....almost everything. And I'm good at science class but I don't want to be a science expert anyway. I don't even know that. What the hell did they teach you in school?

Well, you can see it this way: Heat is caused by friction. On a molecular level it is the molecules that is vibrating faster and causes friction. it is not harder than that.

Atleast that is how I remember it. may be wrong, so I want the genius iM3GTR to confirm or debunk it.

And by the way, you would be surprised how much science and philosophy there can be on bsn.  :D

I remember it like that as well. But can biotics actually heat something up? I don't know. We should call up bioware to see how biotics actually works cause as far as I'm concerned it's mostly telekinesis.

It is space magic. :wizard:

From the beginning it was able to change the effect on mass, (Ergo Mass Effect). In me1 you only did things with biotic that affected the mass (ex singularity created a blackhole). What I know that was all it was about in me1.

What they changed in the codex for it to make sense in  2 and 3 I have no clue.

And I am to lazy to look it up right now, maybe someone else have a better insight in the codex.

I looked at the wiki. Didn't see anything about heating. There's a lot of things you can do with biotics like pull pranks, pick up objects that are too heavy for you to carry, etc. but it takes more effort than many people may think. Many biotics have to take in a high caloric intake because of the amount of energy used in biotics. It may make your life simpler but there are pros and cons to everything.

The problem is that we don't know what we can do with biotic. As I wrote before, you use it by manipulate the mass. How does that make you able to "hijack" a living person?

And the original person said that they maybe could use shockwave to make the molecules vibrate. Sure that would mean a VERY precise shockwave, but it would not be so tiring because it would be very small.

But in the end it is all up to bioware if they want to implement "liquid heating" in the game. (That would be a useful ability on the battlefield to, think of all the enemies we can explode with pressure  )

Well, there is the problem with gameplay and story. in the story biotic is hard and tiring. But in gameplay , well you don't have any consequences. <_<

That's why the protagonist has to be in peak physical condition. We do have cool down.

Not to be rude or anything, but it should be common knowledge to know what the definition behind some things like electricity, heat, warmth and cold is. After all, it's the world we live in and things behave, things change, things happen everyday. Do you never question why the sky is blue? Or do you just question and then go ahead like nothing happened?

Except if you are living in some "poor country", you should know, that heat is nothing more and nothing less, than the process of kinetic energy being transfered from one medium to another. Warmth, cold, basically Temperature is the movement of molecules, the faster they move the warmer it (the object, the medium) is. Cold is the absence of movement of molecules, so a biotic stasis could be referred to a "biotic freeze", although "frost" is often referred to water being frozen, you just stop time inside a mass effect field in which someone is trapped, no movement of particles or molecules, no warmth, deep frost.

Peak condition is not going to make it possible to use all that power if it was to replicate the story. It is the same as if you would run as fast as possible 200 meter, do 200 pushup and then climb a 20 meter rope. Even if you are in peak condition, that will make you unable to function 100%.

And the cooldown is a poor way of showing it because it exist on the other classes to.

It would be better if they made something like a stamina meter so you would have to plan more.

Never said I wasn't knowledgeable but I could care less about science. I do like watching the science channel though but science class in school is just an easy A. Just gotta do my work and remember crap for a short time. They teach you a lot of crap I don't need to know but they don't teach me how to do my taxes.
