[Bayonet Hipshot]

Scenario:- Cassandra and Aveline fight to the death, no holds barred. Location - Open flat ground.

 

Conditions:- Both Aveline and Cassandra use a sword and shield. Both Cassandra and Aveline are at their best. Aveline wears her Kirkwall Guard Captain armor set whereas Cassandra wears her Seeker of Truth armor set.

 

Who would win ? Or will it be a stalemate ?

Cassandra, as a seeker I feel like she'd have a few more tricks up her sleeve.

Well Cassandra is a seeker, was the right hand of two divines and has a movie. She's a bit higher up the "hero" chain than Aveline is.

Cass hands down.. Not only is she a seeker she is a battle harden veteran that knows no fear and has probably forgotten more fighting techniques then Aveline knows. Grant it Aveline is well train as a fighter against  Darkspawn, Templars, mages and bandits she has not fought strong enemies like the Red Templars and Venatori.

 

Aveline is gentle by nature while Cass is a no nonsense woman that guards her inner self  "weakness"  as she maintains that harden  highly skilled fighter.

They would come to an agreement based on mutual respect and admiration and proceed to annihilate the poor soul who tried to pit them against each other.

I would hope Cassandra would win, but I've always found Aveline pretty off-putting and unpleasant anyway.

Cassandra, without a doubt. Remove her Seeker abilities though and I think the fight would be evenly matched.

Varric, for getting his money's worth after staging it to entertain everyone. Plus, it gives him an idea for a new story.

I don't know about them, but Aveline would beat Blackwall. She's tougher than him, according to Varric. That's pretty impressive, considering he's a champion in both spec and achievement in the Grand Tourney.

Honestly, I'd give it to Aveline. As a sword and shielder, I found her to be a bit more durable than Cassandra. The Seeker is more useful against demons and mages, but that's not really a factor here.

In hindsight they should have just called Aveline in from Kirkwall to punch the breach shut.

Could have saved a lot of hassle.

You forget that Aveline would tank against arcane horrors and shades and ancient rock wraiths in DA2. I wouldn't say that just because Cassandra has a few more supernatural tricks up her sleeve, that it would necessarily be an easy win.

You must've mistaken Aveline with someone else.

Aveline did kill that hurlock. She used a sword like a paper-cutter and sliced its head off.

Plus, Aveline's punch wouldn't have missed.

Neither one is at their best in such a situation: Aveline is optimized for protecting other party members from damage, and Cassandra is optimized for fighting magic. So it could go either way. Aveline can take more damage, but probably does less.

 

This is assuming that guard mechanics work the same for both of them. If Cassandra can use guard and Aveline can't, Cassandra wins easily.

Aveline is no brawler like Cass.. Cass hones her skills all through DA:I and she can use a sword /shield or two handed weapon and just as deadly with either one.

 

IMHO there is one that could easily beat either  one.. Leliana since she is ruthless and stone cold bard that's deadly with daggers or  sword/dagger.

You mean the cheesy romance novel whose protagonist is a thinly-veiled allusion to herself?

I think she'd turn purple with rage and attack Varric to prevent him from writing more. Then when he stops writing, Cass turns purple with rage and attacks him until he writes more. The cycle of massive head trauma continues.
