Was just reading a thread on what age ME:A would be represented by and for some reason it got me thinking, what scale would you like to see the battle on?

IMO i would love to see huge battles when it matters most, not just like 5-6 enemies in a wave where you can just pick them off, would prefer to actually feel like your fighting for your life all the time in those battles.

I would also like to see some degree of stealth missions where the atmosphere is really tense maybe particularly when your doing recon on a possible planet to inhabit.

What do you guys think?

Seeing the massive build of the new ennemies, I think one or two should suffice to make us sweat...  ;)

I wonder if there will be moving ennemy vehicles you can attack. ME1 had stationnary turrets, I'd like to see some vehicle vs vehicle action

The use of the jetpack could be an interesting feature for combat (looking for higher grounds to get the upper hand or possibility of ambush from above)

Yeah i think that would be pretty neat... they need to give us something to make us work or asses off... would still like some decent sort of stealth missions as well

I thought they mentioned a possibility of something they called "horde mode" in mulitplayer where a massive amount of players would play against one another.

That would just be stupid... i never actually liked the ME3 multiplayer, i can see how it would work in terms of transferring rewards over to the SP mode, but i dont think it was putting players against eachother more like against huge waves of enemies

What sort  of battle are you referring to?  Not horde mode or big ass strategic battles?

I kinda liked the wave structure of ME3,  allowed you to breathe in between combat.

I didnt mind it, it just didnt feel big enough, i felt they could have had more enemies in a wave to make it that big more "life threatening" as it was the reapers after all.

Also no one seems to be commenting on the other point i made about stealth missions.

Horde mode is just PvE vs many AI enemies; e.g. ME3 MP is horde mode.

Again as long as you get to breathe at some point,  fine.

As to stealth,  I'm in the camp that unless the whole game is designed from the ground up as stealth,  it doesn't work and even then it's hard to get right.

I see what you mean but i think it would work if they balanced it out right and had some missions where your doing reconnaissance and you actually have to sneak around to avoid being detected and all that, i just feel it would be a fbit of a refreshing change to running in all guns blazing all the time and actually have the choice to either sneak or charge in would be pretty neat.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I want hordes and hordes of enemies just nonstop coming at me from all sides. ME3 finale had a chance to do just that, have us fight alongside our "war assets" or at least those who joined us in London like Jack, Miranda, Grunt & Zaeed with legions of stupid enemies just throwing themselves at us, and us raising literal hell.

The Mako doesn't seem to be armed, which is strange (perhaps it's a stripped down Mako that you get to upgrade, also was expecting antenna's, a 360 camera on top of it, stuff like that)

Now that you mention it... They did say that the Mako can be upgraded.

It wouldn't make sense to have a gunless Mako, unless you strip the planets of free roaming enemies...

Having enemies on the planet that shoot at your Mako makes it necessary to have some kind of weapon.

Perhaps it can cloak itself for a short period of time to get away from enemies.

On topic! Yes, big battles I like.

Well ME3 came out so long after the Suicide Mission and Battle of Denerim that the knowledge used to make them was completely lost.

Depends on what you mean by "huge battles".  Are you talking about area wise or combat length or both?

From some twitter info, combat is tough. If the level is long (time wise) and tough to boot, I need a PAUSE button and or a dynamic game save feature. I definite do not like long drawn out combat then die and only start all over from the beginning. Those long LOAD WAIT times are a biatch too.

My gut tells me we will see a mix.  And, speaking of mix, I want in depth training scenarios, repeatable by the player.

EDIT:

I especially would like the ability to "pause a tough combat", switch to a training scenario to hone a certain skill, then switch back and continue combat.

You do know that ME3 has an "Insanity" difficulty level, right?

Srsly though, i can see it in small fits. As far as what's been described, there'll be a few brief moments for such scenes, like when finding war-torn worlds. The game's mainly about exploring, from what i got, so it might not be until the game after that this'll be the case.

Spoiler

It would be cool to see some stealth missions. Hell, i expect the first set of missions to be like this, though the peoples of Andromeda will know something's up soon after our first couple of major encounters.
