Andromeda natives as playable guests on the team ?

I have something to propose and I don't think I saw this subject on the forum before (sorry if I'm wrong).

We will meet various new intelligent species like us on different planets / during missions. I would love to have an Andromeda native character on the squadmates but I really doubt it will ever happen...

My question (especially if none of the andromeda natives make it on the official squadmates):

Would you like to have sometimes the option to have on your team a temporary Andromeda native during 1 or 2 missions (missions related to his/her planet-story only)  ?

So, not definitively, just temporary guests. A new species each time, depending on where you are.

This way, we would be able to have various new aliens joining the team for a certain amount of time. Obviously, all the Andromeda natives won't be able to be temporary squad members, then let's say 3 or 4 available species (if MEA is as huge as they said, I think it's a fair number).

Of course, it will just be an option, you can refuse and play only with the official squadmates but it would be really nice IMO to give us opportunities to play with various new species ~ it could has an influence on how much this or that species will be friendly with us or not at all.

BioWare would also have the possibility to add a certain number of unique sequences if we take the native on our team (like what they did if you take Liara with you on ME1 when you have to fight her mother etc...)

What do you think ?  I hope my message is clear, sorry for my english~

Edit:

by "playable" on the title, I just mean have them with us on the team like Wrex, Garrus, Mordin etc.... not play them instead of Ryder, I know it won't happen. I wish I could edit the title of my thread but I can't, sorry

Edit :

Guys, I also want a new alien on the official squad, but it's not the question I'm asking here ;)

You want a Khet as a squaddie? Or a Remnant?

I think is a good idea. The same way we play with Aria and Nyreen in Omega DLC.

I don't know when that native guests would be better to appear: in secondary missions or in the main one.

We are the aliens this time round, perhaps some of the natives recognize the value of extending an olive branch to the newcomers as opposed to blowing the horns of war. We can trade technology or medicine (you just know it when Salarians are involved) and in return we get their assistance during the mission.

Exactly, good example :)

I think it would be nice at first to play with those characters on story-related missions and then, if possible, still use them for side missions (as long as you stay on their territory)

It's actually bit of a trademark of (at least recent) BioWare games to pick up new NPCs as the game progresses so i'd actually be surprised if we didn't meet some new characters who we plucked along for our grand exploration of Andromeda.

Now, playability is a completely different idea since normally with the ME franchise we don't ever get to play as one of our companions. We just tell them where to go if we need to/feel like it. Might need to switch over to the MP section of the game for this aspect you want. Unless there's some stealthy-stealthy which requires multi-character usage.

If BioWare doesn't do this, they need to lay down the EA-pipe a little more often.

(i wouldn't worry about the English. It's better than most of ours. :P )

See, this is why my english suck, I shouldn't use "playable".

I just mean have a native as a companion like any other squadmate, not controlling him/her. Just have him/her on your squad on the field.

Yes, I would love to be able to have "playable guests" (similar to Aria and Nyreen in the Omega DLC).  Since I don't play multiplayer, I would also like to replay the occasional mission (or side mission) or DLC as the antagonist (i.e. the player character's principal enemy)... just to see how well I might do at "beating myself" in combat (don't think that's gonna happen, but I can dream). :D

I wouldn't, however, eliminate the possibility of us being able to eventually recruit some Andromedans to our team.

I wouldn't be surprised if one or even two new aliens were squadmates

I'm sure the new species would be playable for multiplayer

I wish we had two default MW squad members and you'll get the others during story related missions (like ME1). And I hope the majority of those will be from Andromeda. I've seen enough of the MW species. These were great at the time, though. But we left the MW behind, so its time for Andromeda.

I think we should not have a native Andromedan in this game.

A new galaxy goes beyond "stranger in a strange land" - and there are giant plotholes with having a native in the group.

Why... in the course of off screen roleplaying - did you not debrief this native for every tidbit of knowledge he/she had?  Surely - if part of a space faring race - they will likely have an advanced education being able to relay basic history, culture, science, philosophy of the region and its inhabitants.

It undermines the intelligence of any Pathfinder that essentially says:  No, you could tell me ALL this... but I want DISCOVERY

Next game... when the basics of Andromeda are explored.

Maybe we should have beware of moles and secret agents disguised as cooperative andromedians friends*.

I expect someone of our squad betraying us at some point (an unavoidable betrayal  ala Solas or avoidable as Iron Bull's if you keep his loyalty).

*While I was typing I realized it's pretty racists or predujistic to assume some squadmates can betray us just for being Andromedians :( . I apologize in advance for any squadmate I possibly offend

Old news, I'm afraid.

Still, to answer your Q, I do expect a new female alien and LI in the team, if for no other reason than to have players focus on the new and less on the old.

With a squad of seven,  the team combos (allowing for romances):

1x human male

1x human female

1x Asari

1x Salarian

1x Krogan

2x new aliens

------------------------

7 squad mates + protag

or substitute one of the two new aliens for a Turian.

I'm thinking the first game will limit us to the original species to help new players get aquainted with the Original Milkyway species, also it will take time to develop a relationship with new species.

We might see a few Mercenaries in the Multiplayer, possibly... MP is usualy where they throw in the unusual characters, which we actually get to play.

Personally hope there aren't temporary squadmates unless they are used for effect like Jenkins.

As for andromeda aliens i'd assume there probably will end up being one on the squad, really hope there's not more than 1.

Therer is a 99% chance new alien will be recruited in the first mission that takes place in the Andromeda galaxy, assuming theres' a prologue in MW

I'd enjoy having a native Andromeda character or two on the team.

Perhaps like with Sera in Inquisition, we can recruit them but have the option to tell them to leave if we want, so whether they remain as a temporary or permanent squadmate is down to each individual player?

Or certain actions can cause them to leave us, should we act more like a Conquistador than a peaceful explorer? Or the reverse, that an native joins us because they want use us to take control over an enemy race for them, only to leave in annoyance when we act diplomatically.

It will probably be as optional as Liara in ME1

Eh, so some of it got lost in translation, that happens. I wouldn't worry about it. You're learning!

I don't see why not about the companion part. As i noted, it has always been the case one way or another. Heck, we might get a Remnant, unless it's too "old hat".

Old news, I'm afraid.

Well no, actually it's not old news, I think you (and others it seems) didn't understand well my question.

My apologizes, it seems I'm not clear enough or totally failed at explaining myself :crying:

I edited my post.

The question is not to know if you want a native on the official squadmates, or what the squadmates team will look like.

The question is, do you want temporary and optional andromeda natives on your team for few missions ? Dalinne pointed the Omega dlc where you can play with Nyreen and Aria (who are not official squad members) and this is exactly what I mean. Option to play temporary (or not if you don't want to use this or that optional character)  with new aliens, especially if they don't make it on the official squadmates.

Would you like to have this option? will you play with those temporary characters or not ? like having, for example, a Khet on a mission and on another one a Remnant etc ...

I wish I could edit the title of my thread and remove the "playable" word because it also confused a lot of people but I can't.

Meh... next time I will pick my words more carefully...
