"In Memory"

Memories.  We all carry them with us from the Mass Effect trilogy.  Whether its the warm feeling of nostalgia we all get when hearing the "Uncharted Worlds" theme, or the feel of a warm tear running down our face when we think of companions lost.  Mass Effect is one of the greatest stories ever told in my opinion.  We all have our own favorite memories of our adventures that we will never forget.

But now, a new horizon rises.  A new adventure awaits.  While we hold dear our memories from the previous journey, we can take these memories with us into our next adventure.  Commander Shepard will always be a legend, he or she will forever be immortalized in memory, but now we have a new hero to build memories with, a new legend to be told.  Do not mourn the loss of what once was, but embrace the hope for what can be.

I invite you to partake in ALL THE FEELS of the previous Trilogy while looking forward to what Mass Effect Andromeda can bring.  I put a lot of blood, sweat, and literal tears into this creation, and I hope it sparks that nostalgic itch in you, and maybe even causes you to shed a tear or two.

 

Its time to say that Final Goodbye to our old friends and companions.

I think in reality there's a small part of us that don't really want to let Shepard go. But hey I'm looking forward to Ryder.

Forget about them. They are but relics from a different time. Shepard had a trilogy . It's time for Ryder to have theirs. I'm fine with it. As long as we have better customization options, insane bad@$$ery, and a great voice actor I'm good.

Exactly.  While I will always miss Shepard, I am totally stoked for the adventures to come with Ryder.  Instead of mourning the ending of the previous trilogy, the end of those adventures, I will value them and think of them with a smile.  Similar to Asari culture regarding lost loved ones.

I love that reading by Kimberly Brooks. Would have been nice for Ashley and Kaidan fans if it had been recorded and put in me2. Oh well, ancient history.

The me3 endings were so bad that it ruined the replayability of the trilogy for me for a long time. I have played it once since me3 release. I've said my goodbyes to Shepard and companions and I'm looking forward to Ryder as the new protagonist and a new Mass Effect story.

They can both be legends in their own way.  Shepard the savior of the Milky Way from the Reapers, and Ryder's legend could be leading the Milky Way towards colonizing new galaxies, safeguarding any future galactic extinction events from ever wiping out Humanity completing.  In this way Ryder could almost immortalize Humanity's place in the universe.

Whoa, love the editing!  The scene of Shepard and Anderson watching the final battle, when Shepard looks at the wounds on his hand as Reapers transition perfectly over it, I have a strange feeling of being both happy and sad at the same time.  Definitely hypes me up for Andromeda!

 

Its amazing how BIoWare games can inspire people to create stuff like this.  People love Jurassic Park but do you see any emotional engrossing Jurassic Park videos?  I certainly hope not.

And thanks!  That is exactly what I was going for.  There has been too much negativity surrounding how Andromeda might not live up to Shepard's story.  This video was supposed to help turn some of that negativity into hope.

While all Mass Effect music can pull at the strings of nostalgia, I had to pick a song that worked perfectly with what I was trying to portray.  I tried to time up a lot of things visually with the music as well.  Like when Ryder's lights turn on, the 3-2-1 countdown, etc.
