I'm going to cut the chase and not using typical compliments before stating my feedback. So here goes.
I hope the next DA has base fighting animations dedicated to each character. 'The Base Fighting Animation'; the one you see when you press/hold R2 on PS4.
Character comes from different background be it personality and training. Hence it'd be better if Dual-Wield Sera attacks differently than Dual-Wield Varric and Cole. Two-handed Iron Bull should fight differently than Two-handed Cassandra. And Two-handed Cassandra should handle the weapon differently than Two-handed Protagonist. I'm sure you get the gist now.
Of course, this differences should not affect the balance of the Base Attack. Keep the pace and duration in line, if you don't want to get busy with balancing the damage and speed.
That would be my suggestion.

I'm new to DA and always avoid any games with EA and Ubisoft logo on it. But when I gave this game a chance, I'm glad it wasn't a wrong choice. Good work, Bioware.
