Can we have Dragon Form as a plot power in the next game?

I really, really hope this comes about. Whether or not its something only mages can do remains to be seen though obviously Flemeth and Morrigan gained the ability to do it and they are both mages, I'm hoping it's a ritual of some sort, and not necessarily something only mages can do. I'm sure BioWare could come up with some plot that makes it relevant to what's going to be happening in Tevinter, and we wouldn't necessarily need to have access to the full form right away if it means balancing it around early game scenarios. Maybe various special abilities that imitate dragon like abilities, until some later plot point where we can take on Dragon form, and later still do it at well during regular battles. Come on BioWare... Do this before I grow old and die.

As Pie-In-The-Sky wishes go... that's a good one. B)

It'd be awesome if we could ally ourselves with an Old God. First meeting in whispered Fade dreams, then tracking it down and freeing it from it's prison in the Deep Roads. It would then be our morally-questionable ally during the game until Solas' forces find it, and strike it down. But at the last moment... we absorb it's soul.

Unique Talent Trees open up? Extending our existing Talent Trees? Culminating into being able to turn into a dragon in the final arc?

But being BioWare, there could also be also be some sort of consequences on relying too much on the Old God's power...

In what capacity? I think if you're going to have the player able to turn into a dragon (or any very large flying thing) outside of a few set piece fight you kinda need a game built around it.

Just fire breath power?

No, let us decide.

Fire, Ice, Thunder, Poison, Spirit.

What about Rainbow breath with all damages?

Lovely =)

And that game was called Breath of Fire.

I think it would be cool if we played as a character that secretly had the spirit of Elgar'nan( eleven God of vengeance) inside them, but the character is not aware of this, or the incredible magical power asleep inside of them. Story could start out with our character being a slave to Teviniter, but while we are being sold, the Qunari come and attack the city you are in( result of trespasser events), and begin to slaughter everyone including slaves. A couple of characters you meet die during this prologue( after some fighting), sending your character into an uncontrollable rage, that your character doesn't even understand and starts freaking out; the real reason is that the spirit awakens as a result of Flemeths death. it is here where you turn into a Dragon, and own **** before flying away into the distance( Dragon Age title pops up with epic music to go along with it)

I was thinking perhaps we interrupt/screw up by accident Solas latest or newest attempt at whatever it is he plans on doing. At present he has Flemeth's power, which may be somehow Dragon related, or just has all of her abilities in general. During whatever incident goes down, a portion of said power to which Solas was going to use to tear down the veil, is syphoned into you, and the spirit of the Dragon, or Soul, (assuming some kind of symbiotic bond Flemeth and Morrigan share with a Dragon that allows Dragon Form) is not only transferred into you but it melds with your soul and unlike a Archdemon/Warden, you both can indeed cohabitate within your body. However over time the Dragon Soul begins to strengthen causing various abilities not before seen with previous Dragon Form shifting individuals begin to emerge and the Dragon awakens as a conscious that periodically tries to force it's will on you, depending on the type of character you've been up to various points (if you play more in line with the dragons mindset of being aggressive, cruel, in general just bad, the Dragon fights for control over certain events. This could lead to several bad, events and possibly one critical failure event, where the Dragon wins control of the body indefinitely and transforms into something akin to what the Tevinter mages believes to be a Old Dragon God from days of old, where the Dragon has greater power than normal dragons as well as human-like intelligence and possibly the ability to communicate with lesser beings, and whatever skills your character had at that point.) Where as playing as a saintly like character keeps the Dragon submissive, dormant, though you still gain access to much of its power.

Maybe depending on which course you take as a character you get different types of abilities from it, (bad comes with the more offensive like powers, temporarily sprouting claws, breathing fire, increased strength, and constitution. While playing a more saint like character would grant more defensive abilities, more resistance to various attacks, higher defense, and so on.) regardless of which path you take, you eventually gain Dragon Form for certain key battles where it's necessary.

I think we should get an Old God involved in this, maybe Razikale's got a cult out there or some artifacts?

Oh, yes please! And didn't Hawke want to turn into a dragon? Maybe he will and that's how hes/she escapes the Fade.

I've actually been wondering if a new type of warrior could be created using ancient magic and an unfertilized dragon egg, I'd use it to regrow the IQ's arm though and the side effect of the magic and egg is that IQ gains the ability to become a high dragon...It's a long story though.  :(

Okay, what if we interrupt some ritual to save the soul of Razikale and end up sharing our body with the soul of an Old God? Seems like a valid basis for dragon transformation when the plot demands it.

It's a joke speech choice towards Flemeth -- one I pick every time. Because I want to be a dragon. Not a joke. Have wanted to since Origins.  :wizard:

But as Flemeth says "Perhaps I am a dragon." ;)

Edit: didn't realize this was in the NO Spoiler section. my bad. Real spoiler below.

You could never be a dragon.

I don't remember, does Flemeth say that to a mage?  I know she says it to a warrior, but I don't remember if she says it to a mage or not.

I think it's a fair question to ask.  Flemeth can do it, but exactly what is Flemeth?

Multiple people have said Morrigan can do it.  I'd like to know where that comes from?  DA:O/A and II did not have Morrigan turning into a dragon, though she is a shape shifter, so it may be possible with enough studying of a Dragon, but none thus far has said that she can.  Unless, of course, if Flemeth were to inhabit her body, as is her goal from DA:O, but then that is Flemeth and not Morrigan.

If by chance we learn this in DA:I then I don't want to know about it as I've just started DA:I. :P

BioWare has never done a good job of implementing shape shirting in previous games, not really their fault but the balancing issues are pretty tough.

Yes. their costume design lacks a bit of Armani. Anyway, werewolves in transition from human form really need to wear stretch lycra (or rubber but that leads to places I do not want to venture into).
