What would you think if Bioware anounced that they contracted some game developer to create a Mass Effect 4X strategy game?

Please note, I am not saying that Bioware itself develops it, or that they stop their curent projects. Just a strategy game set in ME universe?

Why hasnt Bioware done so already? I have a feeling it could be a great success, but that's just me.

I'm not sure it's the right time for it yet - I'm thinking after Andromeda (which the gist of what I've heard is that they are trying to avoid endings that will pigeon-hole subsequent titles), we'll have a whole galaxy ready for 4x, with a (presumable) starting power-base.  I don't really get into 4x much since HoMM3, but something hybridy would be cool (something like Mandate sounds like it's going to be).

It could be a 4X based on ME1-3. You know, play as Asari during Rachni war, or Rachni or Salarians. Play as Turians or Krogan in Krogan rebbelions etc.. Or just a skirmish map mode similar to Sins of a Solar Empire or Homeworld.

Eh.

I don't enjoy strategy games, so I wouldn't buy it if something like this were to come out, but I also wouldn't be incensed by it.

Personally I feel they should team up with Hasbro to make Hungry Hungry Krogans.

I know that there was a team making a Mass Effect mod for Sins of a Solar Empire (a space-based 4x/RTS hybrid) called Dawn of the Reapers, but progress has been slow, and I got kinda turned off by the fact Cerberus was one of the three factions, the Council and the Reapers being the other 2. You can look it up on Mobdb.

Myself, I,d really like an RTS in the vein of Relic Entertainment's offering; smaller in scale, about 50 or so individuals on each side, with squads of infantry and vehicles duking it out. Space battles are a bit too impersonal to me. But seeing humans, Krogans, Asari, Geth and all the rest duke it out on larger scale battles than in the main game? Yes please.

I wouldn't play it. I would like some more interesting spin offs, comics, books, movies, etc.

If they make the little balls into miniature Turian shaped heads I'll pre-order it. But they have to make the Blue one an Asari that says "You're a quarter Krogan." If you win.

I think it would be easier and awesome if they worked with Paradox to release a licensed Mass Effect DLC for Stellaris.

I think something like XCOM would be cool. We already have different classes, and maybe the different races could also have different powers depending on what class they are. So a human engineer would be different from a quarian engineer and a human adept would be different from an asari adept. It could take place during the reaper war.
