Let's not forget the Femshep/Vega thing in the Citadel DLC. Cringe worthy is indeed the right term to describe it.
I think you need one of these to properly describe it

Or the bizarre casual sex approach to the Garrusmance in ME2. Femshep's first choice of casual sex being some bone-lizard with a literal boner shows how much she's lost her marbles after getting killed by the collectors too.

It's not like the men on the SR2 don't come with a lot of caveats.
Thane has got less than a year to live, often has vivid flashbacks about his dead wife, while his skin produces a mild hallucinogen that might cause Shepard to spend half the Collector base mission freaking out like she's on a bad acid trip.
Garrus is a bird-raptor with metal in his bones and a totally separate biochemistry to humans. And if the fling ever became serious, Shepard would not be able to meet Garrus' parents on Palaven, unless she was decked out in an environment suit like Tali, due to the increased solar radiation being harmful to humans due to the weaker magnetic field on the planet.
And Jacob is so dull, half the time, people forget that he's even on the ship.
And femshep talking to him like she's in heat.
If only all the BW romances were that unintentionally hilarious. They'd be worth buying just for that.
That scene is hilarious.
Jacob is so bad, but the prize makes up for it.
I just modded him to use assault rifles. He's more useful now at least.
I always liked his loyalty mission though.

Jacob was especially not helped by how I think casual and friendship-like dialogue with him seemingly got locked behind his romance despite it not having been romantic in nature from what I can recall of it.
Femshep really did get screwed.... and I mean that in a bad way. ![]()
But then again, some players are happy. So what do I know?

His mission is good.

Yeah, I did like and enjoy his loyalty mission.
His mission is good.
Pity he forgets the moral about "owning up to your mistakes" between ME2 and ME3 if he romances FemShep.
It was a shame it took until the Citadel DLC for him to finally apologise for entering into a new relationship and getting another woman pregnant, all in the span of the six or seven months that FemShep was in the slammer.
C'mon, Jacob... you might have been dull, but you were a better man and character than that! ![]()

Don't deceive yourself, he's in it just for the prize.
I think they were going out of their way to push female characters into other characters' corners (Liara, Kaidan, etc). Nothing else explains it to me. You don't experience this as a male player though. They're all mostly OK.

The prize apparently wasn't all that great if he ditched her for another woman between games.

She was kind of badass though (it's Femhawke!). She laid down fire while you're squad spaces out in the shuttle. edit: No wait, she jumped out and rescued you. But still.

It was wierd with Thane that they had him out in the hospital lobby all the time despite having given him very little dialogue when they had the perfection justification for why he'd be absent at times; he's terminally ill. Just have him in the lobby during certain times and have him be absent the other time with justification that he needs to rest.

I think TIM might need to sit down with him and explain that he wasn't being literal when he told him to "work under" Miranda, FemShep and Brynn.
One thing to take into consideration though, is that some of dialogue and undercurrent of cattiness to FemShep might suggest that it was probably Brynn who initiated the relationship, possibly because she had a long-standing thing for Jacob from when they'd met a year previously.
Doesn't excuse Jacob's cheating, but I do suspect that it was probably Brynn who's more responsible for pursuing him regardless of his iffy relationship status, rather than Jacob immediately and intentionally bailing on Shepard.
Heh, I once saw a theory that Jacob is attracted to whoever is in charge: Miranda, Shepard, Brynn.
That theory has a lot of sense now!
Its not a theory though. Although I like ImperialAgent/FemHawke/Brynn better when she's single....
I'm kinda planning on making one of my IA romancing Lana Beniko... *grins*

Ultimately, the handling of the Jacobmance in ME3 was due to what an unpopular choice it was, same as with the Morinth as a squadmate one.
I really like Jacob so I actually thought the romance was good. Hated the way they handled him in Mass Effect 3, it destroyed his character development. I don't care how unpopular he is, you don't handle a character like that and it just bought back unfortunate stereotypes with black people.
I'd say the people who get bent out of shape at the mere mention of the other franchise are the oversensitive ones, but as always, i'm sure you disagree.
Don't know about that, just one spot of criticism with that other franchise and you get labeled as some "Biodrone", but of course it's all about perspective. XD
Ugh, don't remind me about Morinth. BW had the chance to give us a complex character but dropped the ball in favor of super paragon Asari sage, and to punish renegade players for...reasons.

Sometimes I think about what a gender reversed ME2 crew would have been like.
Not that I would actually change the crew make up if I could (except for Jacob), but a male counterpart to Miranda is an intriguing concept.
