I can only imagine the backlash of female Jacob (Jaqueline?) in ME3.
It would have been nuclear.
I'm still mad on what they did to Jacob in Mass Effect 3.
Ugh, don't remind me about Morinth. BW had the chance to give us a complex character but dropped the ball in favor of super paragon Asari sage, and to punish renegade players for...reasons.
On top of that, Shepard should not have been able to "successfully" romance her, resulting in death. I mean, she's trapped on that ship, with a bunch of armed combatants with more than enough reason to kill her if Shepard dies. Heck, EDI can easily lock her in that room with no way out. You'd think she would be smarter than that.
people that is addicted is not always reasonably. I am more interesting how anybody thought that would have a happy end for shepard. S/he must be the dumbest person in the galaxy if s/he actually believed Morinth. ![]()
Heh, I once saw a theory that Jacob is attracted to whoever is in charge: Miranda, Shepard, Brynn.
Like i said, just for the prize.
I was once called a sexist on here for referring to Witcher 2 as a "real man's rpg". True story.
Well no ****** duh.
Not for that reason at any rate...
Just because you say a lot of more sexist things doesn't make that not sexist.
...but a male counterpart to Miranda is an intriguing concept.
Makes sense.
I do wonder if such a character will be slammed for "objectification" to the same degree.

There's hardly a need to imagine. Jacob is certainly not the female favorite of ME2. (to say the least)
Reversing the gender of the character just means that a larger crowd would have been annoyed because the game has a larger male audience.
The implication that female fandoms are somehow less vocal or enthusiastic about showing their displeasure ls laughably out of touch with internet culture.
Makes sense.
I do wonder if such a character will be slammed for "objectification" to the same degree.
Would have, you mean? Probably not. Double standards about how male and female characters are treated sometimes go both ways. On the one hand, they probably wouldn't have given quite as many close ups of such a character's backside as they did with Miranda in the first place. On the other, even if they had--there's a growing perception that it's taboo to sexualize the female figure, but not the male.
Media has a hard time with balance, like how American sitcoms still seem to think a good way to depict "strong" female character is by making all the husbands morons. Like that does anyone any favors.
Well no ****** duh.

It's no sweat off my back if I get called "sexist" or what others deem as such(which means anything and everything these days). It's just more passing wind to me.

I've seen some of these romance types in response to the ME3 endings talking about how they don't want their waifus to move on and date anyone else after their Shepard dies(they'd love the old indian practice of Sati). So I can just imagine the reaction to them getting literally cucked.

Would have, will be, who knows, you might yet get your wish for ME:A.
As for focusing on male backsides, my eyes still itch from the long prologue section of the last MGS game, where I was forced to stare for about five or ten minutes at snake's lovingly crafted derriere, and that other guy's sculpted arse, both covered in hospital gowns that offered tantalizing (or horrifying, depends) glimpses of the... equipment under them. (I'm still waiting for Sarkeesian to properly denounce that...)
So there's still hope yet, I guess...

It's a matter of maturity and real life experience I guess. Some people never experienced those things for themselves in real life, so their perception and expectations are somewhat... skewed and unrealistic.

Indeed, which is also related to how I've seen others(with likely a large degree of overlap) talking about how theywant waifus without much or any past "experience".

Right, she just resorts to being a one note killer seductress in the end. It would have been much more interesting if we got a side quest with her and the Monastery or delve deeper into Asari evolution and pure bloods et al. Anything would have been better than what BW actually wrote.

Yeah, I don't know anyone who actually thought that would work, most of the people I've seen play the game would do it just to laugh about it, but then again this is BSN, I'm sure there are some people who raged at not being able to bang Mornith.

Male Miranda complete with gratuitous a** shots? Yes please! ![]()
I've heard people say they killed Garrus because he alternate universe dates Tali, or they sold Fenris back into slavery because he dates an alternate universe Isabela. Guys have had some pretty disturbing reactions to stuff like this on the BSN. If a straight female version of Jacob happened, I could definitely see it being worse. I've never seen a woman say they gave Isabela to the Arishok over Fenris, or for that matter, a gay male say they kill Iron Bull in Trespasser because he gets it on with Dorian in certain game states. It does seem like a vocal minority of straight males tend to have the most violent reactions to having their waifus compromised.

MGSV greatest moment.

I didn't actually wish for it. It was just a "what if" scenario. A future distaff counterpart of a previous character doesn't sound like a good idea to me, when there's so much opportunity to do something new.
I've never seen a woman say they gave Isabela to the Arishok over Fenris,
I have.
or for that matter, a gay male say they kill Iron Bull in Trespasser because he gets it on with Dorian in certain game states.
I've seen someone say that, too. Though I don't think they were male.
MGSV greatest moment.
Not saying much...
...there's so much opportunity to do something new.
Can't argue with that.
I have.
For this reason?...

These men aren't lacking in......romanticism, that's for sure.
Still, none of it tops my romantic takes on the ME universe, where I had a Shepard that romanced Tali that ended up keeping David Archer in Project Overlord in order to fulfill his promise of building her a house in the homeworld(and they say renegade shepard lacks in compassion), or how I had Femshep go lesbian with traynor after being sick of her misfortunes with men after dealing with Kaidan and Jacob.
Seriously, Bioware should hire me to write the romances. I can turn up some imaginative material.

My Shepard didn't even die. Sucks for them.
He started a space trucker business. He's got a limp, but he's doing well.

Meh, it's just a cop-out anyway.

but of course. you're too busy pretending to tie up and waterboard all those fictional women.
For this reason?...
Yes. Isabela flirts with Fenris in any playthrough, whether he's been involved with Hawke or not. Some Fenris fans decided vengeful was the reaction they wanted to go with.
I don't think they had to pick one over the other to begin with. They should've written side quests for both of them in ME3.Ugh, don't remind me about Morinth.
