The only "fear", or worry, i have regarding representation of the other sexuals, including asexual and trans', is that they're stereotypical. There hasn't been a verbally-announced asexual yet so BioWare's been able to step aside that hurdle for now. Trans', well, from what i've gathered from doing everything but play the damn game – soon!… well, eventually; computer hold-up – Krem was portrayed realistically, which is fine, but they haven't tackled the more-feminine variety yet. Homosexuals, from what i gather, have been anything but stereotypical, which is good. Bisexuals though… BioWare needs to face the fact that bisexuals are people too and

don't go around sleeping with everyone. Those would be hetersexual men, mostly; well, try to, anyway.

Possible, Sera not promiscuous (I don't have experience, just heard), but I'm sure, Morrigan somewhat promiscuous (she's talking about her relationship with men – if I remember good).

About Fenris:  I dont think that – Anders and Zevran also available to women.

I think Fenris wasn't made promiscuous because if he was the straight female PC would have two promiscuous LI options.  In most cases, whenever a LI is a gay or bi male. They are usually promiscuous.

Zevran for men and women, but straight women also had Alistair.

Anders for men and women, but straight women, and this time men, also had Fenris.

Iron Bull for men and women, but straight women also had Blackwall and Cullen.

Dorian for men only.

This is why I prefer the DA2 approach.

I never realized that Anders was promiscuous, though.

How so? I'm one of those hetersexual men and i still haven't grown out of it in all my years. I think i can diss my own without someone calling foul for calling out the truth. I know how we are.

Still, stop dissing the biosexuals- the bisexuals, BioWare. Or should i say, BiWare?

I dunno. Isn't it like some sort of biological imperative, like the noble elephant seal?

You just further prove my point.  And whether you're one of the ones you're being sexist and a bigot towards or not doesn't change how you're being.  You're making a negative generalization based off a stereotype....not all hetero men are trying to sleep with any and every female they see.

Well, let's see... was Fenris promiscuous? Merill? Joshephine, Kaidan, Steve or Leliana (ok, paradoxically in DAI maybe)?

I don't think so...

Of course we also got Zevran, Dorian, Isabela, Iron Bull, Sera, Samantha...

I think it's diverse. Especially with characters like Krem or Mae being added.

Kaidan is a straight option upon conception, even in ME3, it's obvious that it's a female option enable for males where it's basically scenes cutting out. DA2 is originally intended to be sexually ambiguous but then they backpedal and change it to bisexual. Canon bisexuals like Isabella is promiscuous.

Out of your list, I could only name Steve and Josephine.

Ugh, you're going to make me quote myself:

Spoiler

… don't go around sleeping with everyone. Those would be hetersexual men, mostly; well, try to, anyway.

First, i didn't say all hetersexual men. I am a hetersexual man and while i notice a lot of attractive women, i don't try to jump every one of them. From walking around in various areas and cities, including large ones like Sacramento and Rome, i'd say most men tend to notice certain kinds of women too, without hitting on them.

Now, what would this do to the validity of my quote, it means i was joking. I do this. A lot. And as being somewhat sensitive, i thought it would come across as such. Guess not.

I was joking towards the end. That's it.

Oh, and while i'll tell you to **** off about calling me a bigot, i am sexist. I like only women. Sorrys.

Back on topic: i'd argue Isabela wasn't promiscuous, at least in the strictest sense. That was her reputation but as she herself noted, it wasn't as many as people assumed.

Guys, calling each other bigot or PC Knight does not help this discussion. If you do that with each person that crosses your viewpoint you kind of exclude yourself from a serious discussion. Sorry but people who label others so easly like that, are not helping.

I'm a heterosexual female so I can't 100% understand the OP's viewpoint but I guess everyone has his or her own wishes than it comes to the ideal romance and the number of options. But we must understand that the developers resources are limited. I would have liked more hetero options for me in ME1 or at least better ones than those who were given in later games (Jacob who cheats, Thane who dies... at least there is Garrus for my soul) and stop seeing characters as their sexual identity. So what if someone had partners before, would you broke up with someone in real life because of that?

And think of the background were they game from and maybe a bigger number fo Bi characters are promiscuous just because they had the freedom do to so. Joshephine wasn't because maybe she was a nobel and not the freedom to go after people she liked all the time. Isabella was a pirate so a lover on each port or something was fine because who would or could have stopped her.

The important part is that all of them were faithful to you once you started the romance.

And in ME (if I remember right it's still a thread about it and not Dragon Age) we never had that "problem" to begin with.

I think people fall back on DA for the portrayal of gay/bi men in Bioware games because ME was really poorly representative of the demographic, so the only substantial and fully realized material Bioware has is in DA. Only one bi male companion ever in ME, and Kaidan was pretty obviously an afterthought, since he was presented as heterosexual and then changed only in the last game of the trilogy. The only gay option was an NPC introduced in the last game without nearly the development of most romance options. ME hasn't really represented gay/bi men to the full extent of a central companion that was conceptualized bi/gay and depicted that way consistently, the way DA has, so it's really anyone's guess how they will do that. Or even if they will, really. If this game has one or more bi/gay male companion romances, then we'll see how ME handles them in comparison to DA. I don't think we've really had a chance to see that yet, considering the previous circumstances.

I haven't played these as romance options, but from normal dialogues I definitely don't get a promiscuous vibe from:

-Cytharat

-Theron Shan

-Koth Vortena

-Sky

I don't know about the others, but Sky definitely wasn't portrayed as promiscuous, and getting to his romance with a male character was tricky to time correctly. He was a flirt (many, if not most, of BioWare's bi and gay characters are), but mostly he suffered from Dead Wife Syndrome. The PC is the one who can help him Love Again ™.

No disrespect intended but here is a idea... how about Bioware stops pandering to everyone that feels that THERE sexual orientation isn't being represented... and yes that also included if you're straight. and make a kick ass sci fi fantasy game NOT another wannabe harlequin romance game. Besides they cant even do that right anyways.,, it's like a bunch of 13 yr olds trying to act like adults.

This.

Who cares what you bang or how often you bang it. Or for that matter, how much others are banging.

Just focus on a good sci fi story with great action, and leave the sexual crusades of whatever flavor elsewhere.

Couldn't care less for what relationship is pandered to in the game  as long as it's well written  and yes that means not all flavors of identity/sexuality are in the game.

As to the OP's original post,  the only character in recent games that just said "No"  was Vivian in DAI.  Which of course every time I spoke to Vivien in game, I asked.  Her reply just never gets old.

Bisexuals providing feedback to the devs on how they perceive bisexuals to be portrayed in the game is a good thing all around. Everyone that isn't affected by the portrayal has to get their two cents in, though, and tell the OP how this thread is unnecessary.

Really doesn't seem relevant to the ME team.
