What is your preferred lineup for your squad? Here's mine
- Obligatory human male
- Obligatory human female (Cora, according to the leaks)
- Male Krogan (Drack, according to leaks)
- Obligatory new asari (Probably the one we saw in the trailer)
- Female Turian
- Either a salarian or quarian of either gender, just an engineer type character
- A member of a new species (Possibly the synthetic that one of the leaks mentioned)

Bioware should break from tradition by eliminating the 2 obligatory human sidekicks. If our initial squad starts with Drack and Cora, you already have a default male and female.
There's not enough room to include a random human just because. We need to make way for some Andromeda aliens. It doesn't help that fans whine & cry about including all Milky Way Races, which takes up space. This is a humancentric story. The species that are most useful to humanity should be brought along.

Doesn't matter to me as long as they have good side stories and personalities.

I applaud Bioware if they do the ballsy thing by eliminating one of the 4 major alien races from our squad.
Krogan and Salarian seem to be a lock.
Asari or Turian could be cut.
Would this mean they aren't in the game? No. They could fill non-combat roles on our team.
We had Turian and Asari on the squad for all 3 games. Krogan and Salarian weren't as common so I see why they were given priority.

I just feel like the human male is useful for making the romance options equal for both male romancing and female romancing sides.

I think they'll be fine.
Even a female who is average in nearly all regards has some romance options in real life.
It's a coalition of Milky Way Races, but the footage we've seen thus far suggests it's largely controlled by humanity.
It's easy to see why Krogans would willingly come along. Humans didn't screw Krogans unlike the other advanced races.
They have historical beefs with the Turians, Salarians, and Asari.
Human-Krogan is neutral.

We have an Asari, human female, salarian, Krogan confirmed so far. Fit a turian and a rumored synthetic(maybe Andromedan) in there and that leaves room for an Andromedan or a human male. Maybe we get no Andromedan. The blade that was pointed at the Asari's head looked similar to our squad Krogan's bayonet. 
It did. But we can only make assumptions at this point. We don't know for sure. So we have a gun pointed at her. Tell us what? Really nothing. The synthetic/synthesis Andromeda native's race was created by the Remnant like the Geth were by Quarians. Unlike them, this Andromeda dynamic between creator and created is a good relationship.
Remnants vanished. Their Synthetic/Synthesis want to uncover the mystery of what happened to their masters.
This fuels the Synthetic/Synthesi to join our Remnant tech hunting squad.
I am a bit shaky about that. I'm hoping they did find a solution to their synthetic problem though.Side-note

I would prefer two squad members of the MW and the rest from Andromeda. Of course other MW species may still be around on the arks or on the Tempest. That way the familiarity with the MW is still there and the new Andromeda crew can be introduced in missions.
