The blade that was pointed at the Asari's head looked similar to our squad Krogan's bayonet. :)

It did. But we can only make assumptions at this point. We don't know for sure. So we have a gun bayonet pointed at her. Tell us what?--- It tells us she did something or didn't do something to deserve a gun pointed at her head. End of story.

I got the sense from her surprised expression, when the blade appeared, that she thought she had someone right where she wanted them, and then Oops!  I didn't expect that!  I better re-think this.  Lol :D

If they make multiplayer badAZZ like I know they will, those bring along all Milky Way Species people get an opportunity to be happy.

Not only do you get your Asari, you can play as her.  Same goes for those niche races like Batarian and Vorcha and Drell

Would you be happy if those two are Krogan and Salarian?  They appear to be locks based on trailer

I have no preference and I am OK with whatever MW squad members BW selects, but no more than two. I have seen enough of the old species in the trilogy and want something new. Also, I like the Andromeda squad members to be story related and not be on a list that someone in charge gave Ryder. Squad members from Andromeda will be ideal to be story related. I'm sure there will be plenty of the MW species around on the Tempest and on the arks to interact with. Nothing would be lost in such a scenario.

What's an exploration without the foreign?

It's called boring.

If there are too many MW species engaged in the main plot, it will seem like we never left the Milky Way; New galaxy, no difference. I doubt that's going to happen.

I think we're on the same wavelength.  We simply want to experience newness.

Expanding on my list

Drack Krogan is a SENTINEL!

Both of our previous Krogan were combat oriented.  Drack Krogan is something fresh and shows us a new side to his race.  He does damage using tech.

Drack is what Okeer would have been.

I love the sound of this. An intelligent krogan who's obsessed with the future of the krogan fits perfectly in a game about setting up new colonies. Also, I was interested in the "let's deal with the genophage" theme of the ME2 krogan more than the "let's get rid of the genophage" theme of the ME3 krogan

Krogan anything

Yeah, it doesn't really matter what the krogan is. Krogan is a class unto itself.

She seems fun i hope she's on the team. Krogan and Asari banter is always great in my book.

2 humans (m/f), male quarian, a turian, a salarian, a native squaddie... if there's more than 6 I don't really care for the rest.

For the humans I'd actually like if we get to pick one over the other (similar to the VS choice), maybe halfway along the game, and then a native could take over.

Disregarding anything from the leaks, my ideal squad would be:

-male Krogan -- close weapons, heavy weapons, and offensive biotics

-male Quarian -- close weapons, support tech, and demolitions

-eyebrow Asari -- light weapons, defensive biotics, and offensive biotics (she's adorable, no matter what the tasteless say)

-male Salarian -- long-range weapons and offensive tech

-female Human -- light weapons, support biotics, and defensive tech

-male Human -- heavy weapons and long-range weapons

-female Turian -- light weapons, melee weapons, defense tech

-male Batarian -- close weapons, melee weapons, demolitions

-androgynous (sexless) Andromedan -- long-range weapons, support tech, support biotics

Six human companions...all female...all hot. :P

In seriousness, it doesn't really matter to me that much.  I care more that the characters are interesting and well written.

1. Human Female (Adept)

2. Human Male (Engineer)

3. Turian Female (Vanguard or Soldier)

4. Quarian Male (Infiltrator or Soldier)

5. Krogan. Any gender, but I guess the spot is filled by 'Drack'. (Sentinel)

6. Other Milky Way species - batarian, salarian, asari etc. Any gender. (Vanguard, Infiltrator or Soldier)

7. Andromedan species. Any gender. (No idea about class - something unique?)

Hanar. As I've said before, I'd love to get on a soul name basis with a Hanar. We never had that in the trilogy, as I recall. Discovering my best Hanar friend's soul name is 'Kills close friends' or something would be quite touching.

And then Volus, Krogan and RALOI. And Quarians. And Turians. Aaaaaand Drell. Also Vorcha. ALL THE ALIENS.

But I'd love the Raloi to finally make an appearance.

If they wanted to be bold, they'd cut asari. But they won't, because Shatner fantasy.

Why would they do something that makes no sense just to be all daring and whatever?

Alright, first things first:

I want more than 7 companions (!) because 7 simply doesn't cut it anymore (too many races IMHO - can't cut any of the Milky Way races we've had along so far (Asari, Turians, Salarians, Quarians and Krogan), you can't have only a single human companion either IMHO (I could do without humans on the team, not that I don't like humans, but most fans wouldn't like that!) and you IMHO need to give us some Andromeda-Aliens, too (more than one), not to mention that most species have more than one gender...also: There's races like the Batarians that should finally get a companion character, too!)

All in all: More than 7 would be great (I'd like a large team like in ME2!)

Note: Unless they want to go the route of giving us temporary companions (you enter some alien races territory and they insist on sending one of their's along, for the time you stay there)...which might be a good addition anyway, even if they enlarge the team (which they IMHO should)

So, what do I want:

- Turian biotic (doesn't need to be female, but that would be a bonus) - biotic because cabals aren't traditional Turian soldiers (so they are more flexible in their strategies, tactics and their thinking!)
- Quarian (also biotic...as biotics are rare in that species...maybe someone who left the fleet because he or she didn't like the conditions there - so not an appologist like Tali (as much as I like her, but I'd not just accept cramped living-space as the norm...as an introvert I need my space!))
- I'd take the Asari from the trailer (but: Damned, get your artists working again and make her look better, not like an overgrown child during puberty and get rid of that smear of dirt around her eyes (what's with that anyway? It did look stupid on Hawke in Dragon Age 2, so why does it show up AGAIN?)....) who hopefully is a great biotic, too (note: Sadly we won't learn more about the ardat-yakshi...they would probably not be selected for such an expedition...I'd have loved to have another as a companion - hell, maybe even help her with her problems...look into a cure etc.)
- Salarian STG operative (more or less like Mordin...though I'd love having a female Salarian along - maybe one who doesn't want to pull the strings behind the scenes...kind of a rebell!) who's into tech (a biotic would be nice, too but as much as I would like a full biotic team, I guess many others wouldn't want that!)
- Batarian hacker (someone who left the hegemony and didn't agree with their policies and ideals (slavery!))
- human female sniper (who plays the Ice-Queen but really isn't)
- human male engineer (soft spoken, but tough when the situation demands it)

As I said, I'd love more, but that's seven already :( (I'd love to have an Asari matron/matriarch along who's like Aethyta - headbutting stuff and telling traditionalists to shove off and try new things etc....in essence: Someone rebelling against social and political norms an challenging people!)

greets LAX

I. don't. care? I base my squad on how they interact with each other. I'm one of those people who purposely put Morrigan together with Alistair to hear them squabble.

It's the same reason I always kept Varric and Isabela together or Sera with Varric and Cass with the occasional Solas. In ME, it wasn't quite as meaningful to me since party banter wss minimal. I do enjoy Javik and Liara though.

Yeah, ME historically doesn't have as much squad talk, though individuals sometimes are as good. Kasumi is gold in this regard. I get such delight from hearing her shout "Surprise-for-you" before dropping a flash bang on the enemies' head. Jack's pretty fun vocally too. And if you need a good vocal pick-me-up, count on the cheerlead- Miranda to support you.

Oh, i wonder if Javik-Liara chat back and forth like Garrus and Tali do (i.e. the infamous elevator talk). I never picked up Javik but i'm looking to fix this miss as soon as i can.
