for the ground squad:
female human
male human
female turian
male krogan
asari
salarian or quarian
native Andromedan
if I could get greedy and have like an 11 man ground crew then:
-female human Adept
-male human Engineer
-female turian Soldier
-male krogan Sentinel/Infiltrator
-asari Vanguard
-salarian Sentinel
-male quarian Infiltrator
-female drell Sentinel
-vorcha Soldier
-native Andromedan Soldier
-synthetic Engineer
but I'd want as much diversity as possible for the overall crew.

Krogan
Salarian
Leviathan
Protoss
and another Salarian
That squad is too op pls nerf.
My ideal squad would be composed of:
Vorcha engineer or sentinel of either gender
Batarian Soldier of either gender
Female Turian biotic
Asari Vanguard (my own personal Tela Vasir)
Krogan (Drack)
Salarian Infiltrator (STG?)
Andromedan Native
Generic Human squadmate (Cora)

Why would they do something that makes no sense just to be all daring and whatever?
Cutting out the Asari to make space for Andromeda Native Squaddies. It's daring but the boldness is a byproduct of utility.
It's time for other races to get theirs.
Asari were an over represented race on the squad.
ME1: Liara
ME2: Samara or Morinth and an entire DLC dedicated to Liara
ME3: Liara and an entire DLC dedicated to Aria
That's FOUR different Asari.
We had Turian in all 3 games, but it was only ONE guy.
Krogans came along for 2 games.
Salarians only one.
No race has taken as much exposure as the blue. We had an Asari Nerd, a former merc Turned Justicar, an Asari Monster, and an Asari Gangster. Hell we even got to kill a crooked Asari Spectre.
They've been well fleshed out. Granting them a big role holds Andromeda back as Asari are constant reminders of an old galaxy.
We even visited the Asari city of Illium. Turians, Salarian, and Krogan need to eat too.

Are Salarians getting priority this time just like the Krogan.
One of the earliest development statements Salarians looking better than ever.
Then we see a Salarian on our ship.
Turians haven't been getting any love so far.

I. don't. care? I base my squad on how they interact with each other. I'm one of those people who purposely put Morrigan together with Alistair to hear them squabble.
That makes it sound like you do care, quite a bit. The interaction between squad members is traditionally very effected by their origin.

It seems Turian specialty isn't as useful for colonization.
Humans and Krogans are better at aggressive expansion.
Salarian are the scientists who study and make breakthroughs about the new galaxy.
Asari establish Milky Way Life in Andromeda due to their ability to screw anyone. Those diplomatic skills come in handy when you have small numbers.
Turians are the odd one out.

A Krogan squadmate is all but confirmed
I wouldn't mind another AI squadmate
Mandatory BioWare boring human male
Blonde human female (confirmed?)
A Batarian
Andromeda alien

What is your preferred lineup for your squad? Here's mine
- Obligatory human male
- Obligatory human female (Cora, according to the leaks)
- Male Krogan (Drack, according to leaks)
- Obligatory new asari (Probably the one we saw in the trailer)
- Female Turian
- Either a salarian or quarian of either gender, just an engineer type character
- A member of a new species (Possibly the synthetic that one of the leaks mentioned)
This list is actually quite close to what I would have said. The one difference is that I would specifically want the engineer-type to be a male quarian.

An all-warrior species.
Race Group/Ethnic/Clan Preference
Human - A mix of Nords and the giants of Dinaric Alps
Turian - Elite bird squad of Palaven, shock troopers
Krogan - Clan Urdnot, Clan Raik
Asari - Justicars, warrior-monk of Thessia
Salarian - Special Task Group, enhanced to appear buff and stronger
Rachni - Rachni Brood Warriors, enhanced with super-serum
Yahg - No idea, the most ferocious Yahg clan

Srsly though, i care. But only in their personality and how they interact with others. I have no preference, at this point, about the species of my squad mates. Unless one of them, say, only eats cats. I might put my foot down then.

Hmmm, I would like the obligatory humans as I'm not all that interested usually in aliens romances. Barring that we need something like the advisor romances in DA:I. I could honestly do without the Krogan, but I know they'll be included. I've just never used them, ever. My general aliens of use are the turians, asari, and drell with a bit of salarian thrown in. So, I'd like to see those aliens in my squad choices.
I have no opinions on anything from Andromeda as of yet, but I'm sure we'll pick up something from the local civilzations.

I hope dearly that the krogan squadmate is either cut, or is somehow made more interesting than every other krogan we've seen in the games thus far, which isn't very. Beyond that, just have as few humans as possible, preferably zero, but one if necessary.

Gotta have humans, reference points are needed. I agree with you about the krogan, though.

Okay, i'll bite, theoretically. These are the species (per major class) i'd choose if personality wasn't a factor…
- Adept: Human(, Volrus)
- Engineer: Quarian, Salarian
- Infiltrator: Geth
- Sentinel: Asari
- Soldier: Turian, Elcor
- Vanguard: Krogan(, Hanar)
* Those in parenthesis are honorable mentions since there isn't strong evidence of any strong combat abilities. And for laughs.

Then you'd need multiple examples of each species, surely?
