Or go to another galaxy to colonize and explore. We'll see whose assumptions are right buddy.

Travelling across seas or over land on earth is no comparison at all.

If Bioware chose only colonization and exploration - they're banking on a very uneducated audience.

Not to mention how stupid someone has to be to ignore the other 100 billion stars in your own galaxy just to "go to the Andromeda galaxy".  What an incompetent bunch of a-holes these travelers would be.

Whatever man. I think pretty obvious why they're doing it. 1. To escape the endings. 2. Dude it's intergalactic travel!!!!!! Who wouldn't pass up that chance? Why travel the ocean when you can go to Mars? I'm gonna come clean man and take no offense, I don't give a **** what you think and you can bet I'm not the only one. We've seen many places in the MW galaxy. Now.....it's time to see what Andromeda has to offer in the Helius cluster.

So, by staying in the MW galaxy and hiding in a hole somewhere, you believe the Reapers won't find you? You may be willing to take this high risk of human erasure but I don't.

From a development point of view, going to Andromeda and starting fresh, is the better idea. Besides, people easily forget that Shep was a three game series, period. Another Mass Effect game needs to start off in a different direction.

You misunderstand - fleeing the Reapers is the only conceivable reason to leave the MW that I don't find absolutely ludicrous.

Mind you - it's still silly.  The Reapers don't wipe out pre-industrial civilizations in the MW - they target the Citadel species only.  There are a hundred billion stars in the MW... and even some Eden worlds were known about that aren't yet colonized.  Seeding humanity without tech (but with the knowledge) onto those words to ensure the survival of the species would have been a no brainer.

Fooling the Reapers takes only forgoing the use of their tech.

But - since we ARE going to Andromeda - for me, it has to at least be because of the galactic threat and not just "wonder and awe and humanity!"

I think you're overestimating the Reapers! All you have to do in dig a big enough hole and they will pretend there is nothing there. If you don't want to dig, the bottom of the ocean also seems Reaper-proof.

It should be noted that the Leviathan race was hiding under the sea.

If the Reapers don't wipe out Earth, an asteroid, plague, or something else will. That's another reason to go and build a new home for humanity like the trailer states.

Leaving the Earth... isn't even remotely comparable to leaving the galaxy.

In ME - humans already left the earth and would survive "an asteroid, plague or something else"
